A friend of mine recently showed me her Kindle reader that she bought from Amazon. I was amazed! I love to read and have a very hard time finding books in English where I live. It seems that the Kindle is a little pricey......but reading is one of my favorite pleasures in life. I would love to get one but would like to hear from some of my myLot reading friends. Do you own one? Do you like it? What have you heard? I appreciate any advice I can get!

I have to say that the kindle is well worth the price. I bought it last week and love it. I have been wanting it since the very first version and I am actually glad that I waited for this version as its thinner than the original. I heard that with the original that it came with a cover. With this version, I had to buy a cover. I like how I can makes the font bigger.

Thanks so much, this is just what I wanted to hear. I really want one but needed to hear that someone loves theirs. Do you find it much different than reading a real book? I love the thought of being able to get a book whenever I want one!

I think its better than a book. You have a button to hit when turning the page. For people whom are living in the United States have it a lot easier when it comes to getting books. We can get them wirelessly. For the people whom don't live in the United States, you may have to do it manually.

Yes I've seen the kindle and it does look like a really great invention for people that like to read but don't want to pay a lot on books. I prefer reading out of books though and not staring at a screen to read something. Staring at screen kind of hurts my eyes after a while and I don't like having to scroll why reading.

Jambi, that is exactly what I said, I like to read a real book and I was worried about the screen hurting my eyes. My friend says that she reads one all the time like a real book, it has a book cover and that you can change the lighting and fonts so it doesn't hurt your eyes. I don't know? I appreciate you responding!

I would love to get a kindle one day, maybe I will get one next year, or maybe when the next hardware revision is released (if any). Ive wanted one since the first one was released, but to be honest, the lack of a backlight is not very appealing to me. I love reading in my bed at night, and I can not stand booklights, but I see the point of not having one built in, to make it more "authentic". The prices on the books for kindle are overpriced, considering it is digital and does not use any paper.

I have to agree, the new releases at $9.99 are expensive, but I can't get any English books where I am, so it is a bit tempting. I certainly wish that the Kindle itself were cheaper. I could buy groceries for a month on what it costs to buy one. I would like to find an inexpensive used one, but expensive seems to be Kindles middle name!

I just got a Kindle this week! Yeah!!!!! I can't download books wireless here in Mexico but it takes less than a minute with a computer. It's really amazing, holds over 1500 books!
