My aunt and I just started our meal at a fastfood when a waitress spilled a tall glass of iced tea on my back, tea and ice cubes together! I am not a meek and silent type, I am vocal when pissed, but at that instance I could not speak, I was in total shock!. For about 10 min or so the waitress was apologizing profusely, but I could not react,it was as if I was transfixed even while she was already suggesting that she buys me a new shirt so I could change into dry clothing. I went to the rest room hoping to dry my shirt from the hand dryer, but it was so positioned that it was directly above the side of the sink, and there was no way I could go under the dryer. Still the waitress was saying she'd buy a shirt. After a very long while I spoke the only words there: "just do it". Later I was presented a newly bought shirt. When I related my experienc to my friends they told me I am still lucky it was not hot coffee or hot soup. Yes, there are unpleasanr circumstances which happen in our lives, but my coping mechanism is the thought that: IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.

Right, it was an unexpected bonus, the shirt, although it wouldn't pass as a fashionable piece, just something wearable. Thanks for seeing the bright side though.

This incident certainly leaves a bitter taste in my mouth…you were certainly inconvenienced but I am feeling very sorry for the poor waitress! It was an accident alright and even with you not agreeing to a new shirt, she would have probably got the boot for being clumsy and inattentive. On top of that, she would be paying for the new shirt from her salary, most probably! Aren’t you just GLAD you got a new shirt this way?!

That's a positive reaction, Thanks for the insight! It's really a good practice to focus on the positive rather than the unpleasant so you save your sanity. Thanks for the comment
