I'm just curious for the truth about using a bathtub well, either at home or somewhere else during travel. Accordingly sometimes a bathtub could be a cause for some illnesses and irritations by the user, how true? I hope you have ideas and can share it with me. I have installed a new one at home and I feel it so relaxing to use. Please share your thoughts on this. THANKS!

Congratulations because you can afford a bath tub, a luxury item. LOL! I could not afford to take a luxurious bath in a tub because it is expensive to install, water costs are high, bath salts are quite costly too and I also do not have the luxury of time. I most often in a rush so I can't take a leisurely dip in a tub so I just have to content myself with a quick shower. As to the health concerns with the use of a bath tub, one should always clean a tub first before using it unless you would want to wade in a pool of bacteria.

I am not using a bathtub at home because we don't have a bathtub at home. I also don't use a bathtub during travel.

While I am travling, I do not dare to use the bathtub provided. It surely will cause some diseases after that. Since I am very busy, I do not use bathtub in my house either. I just use the spray-head. So the average time I use to have a bath is about 10 minutes at most. I do know it is good to our health using a tub. When I have much more time, I will buy a bathtub to use.

i have a bathtub in my house, but i rather take a shower. now when i was little it was always fun in the tub, to fill the water up as far is it could go and then play in the tub with toys for an or so. but the easiest to me is to take a shower, and get clean and get on my way. what do you prefer?

I have a long and deep bath and I love to lay in it feeling the warm water. I wash my hair and body in natural shampoo and soap. I think that it is wise to clean the bath after use. I am not sure bathing can cause illnesses at home but in a dirty bath overseas there might be some worry off an illness. In my home country a shower gave a man legionnaries disease.

I miss my bathtub! My mom stays with me about 5 months out of the year to escape the hurricane season where she lives. I took out the bathtub and installed a very nice shower because she's 84 and can't manage the tub. It's an improvement and will add to the value of my property but I really miss a good hot soak in the tub!

The thought is that bathtubs are a poor idea for hygiene. All of the sweat, grime and germs you've collected though the day sit in the pool of water that your bathing in. In effect, you're only spreading that around yourself. If you take a bath to relax your mussels, you might want to give yourself a quick rinse down afterwords, to remove the extra garbage..

Yes, we have and use our tub at home. There's really not to much of a concern for health reasons at home, because we know we clean it well. Mostly we use it for the kids bath. The adults stick mainly to the shower just because of the time constraints. But every once in a while, it's nice to soke in a hot bath. When I was growing up, our house only had a bathtub, no shower, so there was no choice in our house.

I don't think that taking bath in a bath tub has some dis-advantages. I think it depends on our cleanliness, if we are not keeping it clean and tidy then it can be a reason for infection otherwise I don't think it has any drawbacks. You should wash it on regular basis. Always clean the water accumulated in it. These are basic things that can keep you healthy and uninfected after taking bath in bath-tub.

I use the bathtub at home. I clean it nightly too. When we travel we tend to use a shower. For the baby when we travel I usually bring his little bathtub to go inside of a full size tub. I know if you sit in the water too long it can cause an infection, like a UTI or sometimes can cause a rash and irritation. I find it relaxing to sit in the tub. Its really the only quiet time I get for the most part so I try to make the most of it.
