If I find a comment particularly offensive I may comment, but unless the offender is a child there really isn't much to say or do.

I talk politely when eating with friends about sensible things none of which would put them off eating. If someone talked about something disgusting that might put me off eating. A yucky sort of joke would be bad to hear when I am eating. My family members know to be careful what they talk about when I eat food.

I don't really like talks like these unless I am the one talking - but I also try to be respectful of others and wait until their done eating or atleast done chewing. Usually disgusting talks around here are about how the dogs have used the bathroom where they're not supposed to or the cat has thrown up, or the dogs have thrown up. My fiance, his father and I have a queasy stomach to pick these things up, so unfortunately we do not most times pick their waste up and leave it for his mother, who I am sure is none to happy with it!
