What is your definition of happiness, things? I disagree that a person with money has everything. Money won't make you smarter or healthier, and you have to wonder about your friends. Are they your friends or your moneys friends? I'm not saying money isn't good to have, but it doesn't often bring true happiness.

This is a question I have struggled with a lot lately. I have been in both spots - plenty of cash to buy what I wanted, and living in dire poverty. I was not happy when I had money, although my money allowed me to stay busy enough that I didn't have to think about it much. I eventually walked away from the money and all that was attached to it. I am now quite poor, yet I have wonderful people in my life and I am loved. I can honestly say I am happy and content. That being said, I live under a great deal of stress directly related to my lack of cash flow. I recently and the opportunity to spend a week in a tropical paradise with all expenses paid. I lived like a queen and wanted for nothing. When I came back to my poor and simple life, I suffered from depression for weeks before coming to terms with my life again. To sum it up, I think the anwser to your question depends of one's definition of happiness.

Money is not everything, money is paper and metal designed a certain way, which leads us to believe it has value. Which by the by, only has value because we believe it to have value. It makes good fire starter, the paper kind from Canada and America at any rate. And our coins make decent paper weights. We can use it to find the knowledge that leads to true happiness, but we could also spend our time and do it for free. Hmm, what else ahh yes, even the poorest of people can be happy. With the right attitude, anything is possible.

It's true in the sense if we have to live then we have to buy it through money even essential things also without it no one can survive. But can you assure me that if I have enough money, then I could buy the hearts of Indians through money and be the next Prime Minister

Hi there jimmy87,
People with little more money will enjoy their life better than before, but the person with big heart, open, and loving, even without money, he can still breath easily, treasure every small things like nature and all God makes for us, and i'm still learning to do that. I hope i keep on better and better for every second and day. :)
Happy posting always

Money is never the end of the equation. If you aren't contented and happy then life becoming boring and insugnificant. If there is no calling or passion then there might as well be no life. Money can make things happen but there must be something besides its weight around your neck. In the pirsuit of happiness there is such a thing as ethics and scruples. This aspect does not always give money the upper hand.

I dont think money is everything. I honestly feel that the best things in life are free (love, family, friends) Now, to enjoy the finer things in life, you do need money, but I dont think that only people with money enjoy life. I always try to find ways to enjoy myself regardless of if I have a lot of money to spend or nothing at all.

No, money isn't everything. There are very unhappy people with more money than they know what to do with. Happiness comes from being content with what you have and who you are. Not what you want and who you want to be. I'm not saying one shouldn't try to learn new things and take risk in one's life, but I am saying things are much better and keep getting better when you figure out how to be happy with what you have today.

We have to say money is a important element in our life, but not everything. i am not saying if i am broke, i will be happy, it just that we have to manage our life a little better.
Don't compare ourselves to the millionarie, if you keep looking at the distance, you will always feel money is the most important thing in the world, it's so important that we can not enjoy our life without it.
Treasure whoever is with you now, a little things will bring big surprise, use your eyes and follow your heart, you will feel life are beautiful!

money can't buy everything.
maybe you are not happy if you have money.
and you are happy when you haven'y money.
having money is not equal to happiness.

I think so from my personal experience so far. Without it, we suffer a lot. With it, I can do whatever I want, and I can bring so much happiness to life. Someone said love can not replaced by money, I doubt it with day to day life. I prefer real love between two persons. But it not gonna happen. I was disappointed, and I realize the brutal truth. Money sometimes can buy love too.
