I agree. I would rather see the full word, than the shorthand version. I think though, it might be the writer in us. We go to great lengths to make sure our words are correctly spelled, and to see words purposely shortened like that makes us crazy.

I prefer the real word, it is much easier to read. I suppose if I was a teenager or young adult it would just as easy to read the abbreviated versions. But being an avid reader I am only used to seeing complete words. I think maybe I am getting old, I don't know?

I also prefer to read real words. I just don't feel comfortable writing 'i' instead of 'I'. I go back several time to make sure I have correct spelling and grammar. I still miss things. I usually notice after I have posted the response. To fix it I would have to start again,... and it was such a good response too! Half the abbreviations, I don't even understand them. I had to ask someone what 'lol' meant. How sad is that! I still like the 'proper' way of writing. And that's how I feel about that.

Oh this is because of the influence of texting when sending messages through the mobile phone, they have to make the word more shorter so that they can fit all the idea there when they send it,saves them from sending another one. And now its like almost everyone are getting used to it. But for me its still nice to see the proper spelling of a certain word.
