Do you read terms and condition or just select "I Agree" while Signing up?

While joining any site we have to complete the sign-ups process. During that process we have to fill some details about our self. Then every site has some "Terms and Conditions". There is mostly a check box or tick box or a button "Yes I Agree". Then there are some link or text in huge text box which contain that Terms and Conditions". So every time when you are joining a specific site are you reading all the "Terms and Conditions"?

Thanks for sharing your views in this discussion I think you should start doing it because later it might happen that you might say that you have learned from your mistake. SO why wait for tomorrow start from today. Just a suggestion or just scan through those sentences. Bye

i never read terms and condition and i think nobody has a time to read a page full of terms and condition and i think all the conditions are same with every website with a little change.

Thanks for sharing your view. I think most of the people do the same thing. But sometimes it is important to read these things. But it is difficult to find that right time. lol

Anyone who says they are 'too lazy' has only themselves to blame if they have discussions or responses deleted and lose 'earnings' as a result. If being a member of any site is important to you, you MUST read and understand the rules. Too many people think they can make up their own 'rules' and it is those wastrels who so often complain that a site is a 'scam' because they weren't paid or their account was deleted.

If you don't read what you sign up to you have no comeback if you get banned for breaking the rules. You could lose all the money you earned on the site because you broke a rule and had your account closed. Terms and conditions are provided both for the benefit of the website and of those who join it. It is in my own interest to know what I'm agreeing to. If money is involved I will not sign up until I know exactly how and when the site will pay out. Some sites will only pay people in the USA, so I need to know I am not excluded from earning.

Yes you are right some sites are smart enough to mention these things in terms and conditions But I think these thinks are also available in faq section. But still it was a very useful suggestion to read it when money is involved.

I def read the terms and conditions. If you did not read them then that would be like buying something with out seeing it first and how many people really do that or buy a car with out test driving it. That part of the equation is very important just like how that lady said that she had to stop using that email it is no joke. There are so many scams and people just trying to get rich quick crap that you must read the terms and conditions in order to protect yourself. My daddy always said ready anything and everything even the back before you sign your name to it. Agreeing to the terms and conditions is just like signing your name. If you do not read the terms and conditions and something goes wrong then you really you have no one to blame but yourself, don't you agree? If you learn anything in life let it be from your mistakes.

Thanks for sharing your ideas here I think it is better to start it right now rather than saying then suffering later and say that I have learned from my mistake. Bye

Who would read through the pages and pages of text? And they use English words which no one but lawyers understand

Yes I do read them most of the time but not word for word LOL... I just have learned to scan 'speed read' through them to get the main details of what they're saying. Most of the stuff is the same but you might find some specific details here & there. Basically what everyone should read if nothing else is the money part. Understand what, when and how you will be paid. Otherwise you might waste more time on the site than it takes to read the terms & conditions. And again, i definitely don't read word for word but I do a quick scan through, s l o w d o w n a bit on the money part -- then I'm out!!!

Thanks for sharing your view in this discussion. I think scanning is also good idea. At least far better than not reading. I also missed it but after this discussion I think it is necessary to read them.

most of the time " Yes I Agree" but now i have started reading the terms and conditions before signing on it. One must study these carefully as it contains important information.

It depends o which kind of informations they required me. If I only provide name, email, then I don't care much about tems and conditions, but for further details such as my address, my age, my yearly income, I would take a glance. However, I see that terms and conditions are very alike for different sites, so as of the second site, I don't read them carefully.

They are very long, indeed. I do read some of the sections, particularly those which say about what I am supposed to do and what obligations I have to agreee to, just to be sure that I won't be agreeing to what I cannot do.

No, most of the time I don't give time to read em all but when I am going to use my paypal account with them then I tend to read them at a glance. Just to see if they are going to charge me anything when I get to enter their website. Just precaution you know!

For the past several years, I have been reading the TOS. I had the unfortunate joy of joining a website that stated in the terms of service they have the right to use my name, information, for any purposes...not so much in those words. IN the long run I wound up getting such bad spam that I stopped using that e-mail address. It took me along transferring all my accounts and friends over to the new one. It was a huge pain in the butt and thankfully I didn't use my real name. Plus if I would have continued on with that site I would have gotten a virus from their software. So I now skim everything and read ones that really make me question.

Thanks for sharing your views. I have also experienced some of my friends doing the same thing because they told that some site has hacked their password and changed it. Now they are unable to recover it.

if i were to read all the terms and conditions every time i sign up or install something it would take me the whole day. so i just skim through them to make sure there's nothing that can get me in trouble like installation of spyware or anything like that. a couple of times i caught them and cancelled the installation.

no i dont.. mostly all the terms and conditions are based on ethics and they tell you not to do stuff which a common man does not do anyway.. it is only for illegal net users which we obviously arent.. so those terms and conditions do not mean anything to us and we need not take pains in reading them everytime before we agree to them.. the only cases where we have to read terms and conditions is in sites where we have to pay money so that we do not get cheated.. thus the terms and conditions in the free sites can be taken for granted..
