I think you can get money out of almost all the parts of your desktop. Selling it as a whole piece would fetch you more money than selling it part-by part. If you want to sell its parts, following can get some money for you: * The Monitor * RAM * CD/DVD Drive * SMPS * The Processor Try putting it on ebay, may be you get a good buyer!

Anything that is usable and recyclable is good :) You can go to a buy and sell shop for computers and you can ask them what they'd want to take from your old desktop computer. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

**If you plan to throw it away, you should save the following parts: *CD/DVD Drive. You can put it on your new computer as an additional drive...Can be handy at times. *Floppy Drive: Cuz you don't get them easily anymore. *SMPS: You can use this as a power supply for hobby electronics or maybe keep it as a handy replacement just in case. Remember an SMPS never really becomes antiquated. *Hard Drive: Can give you a little extra space. *RAM: If its less than 128, its no use, otherwise you could use it as extra memory(provided your motherboard supports it) *Motherboard: Most probably this is junk cuz there's always a newer model there and old motherboards won't support new processors. But you could keep it just for fun. *Processor:You could use it for advanced electronics project or maybe sell it otherwise if its too old, its trash *Fans: you could keep them just for fun or use for making stuff, if you are a designer. I think that should be all. If you want to sell stuff, I suggest you try to sell it as a whole because old computer parts generally don't have as much value alone. Someone might want to buy your PC for experimentation, even if it is too old...

What is the hardware specs of your old and new computer? It is important if the old parts are compatible in new computer to that there would be add ons on the hardware of your new computer

depends how old it is, tho remember if you scrap it take your hard drive out and destroy it so that no one can get any info from it once ya pc is scraped. If your old is more than 4 or 5 years old then to be honest maybe save ya floppy drive or cd drive as they dont make floppy drives anymore tho all depends on if you will ever use a floppy again.
