Kids buying thongs!

How old should your kid(s) be before they buy a thong? Sounds crazy, kids in thongs, right!? Thats what I thought too but I went out a few weekends ago with a friend/neighbor of mine and we went out to the mall. We each brought our daughters, hers is 6 and mine is 5. While out shopping her daughter found a pair of underwear she wanted. No biggie at first, then she started looking at thongs. Now this child is a little older looking than she is, 8 give or take is what she could pass for but still. She found a thong she wanted and her mom after a few minutes of back and forth bought them for her. Ummm nope! I would not have bought them for mine. They had the same thong color in regular underwear, which is what I would have bought if my daughter would have asked for them. I dont think kids should wear thongs, what is the point? Is there one? I jsut posted about this under another discussion that was going on but I think its a bit crazy. So at what age should a child be able to wear one? Should they be allowed? Would you have bought it for your daughter? Maybe Im the crazy one :)

eew,no.there's no reason for a child to be wearing a thong. i would say upper teens at the very least, they're sexifying kids way too early now. i can't imagine an active child even wanting to wear something like that.thongs ride as it is.

Hi, callahanb78! I personally think that she should start wearing thongs when she is in high school. It also depends on how her pants fit her. This makes a huge difference. At 14 would be a good age to start.
