Have You Ever Done Something That Made You Feel Incredibly Stupid??

Heavens to Betsy yes LadyM. Every day almost. Today I was cutting a branch off a holly tree without realising that when it eventually fell the branch underneath, which it had been holding down would spring back and wallop me in the mush! Boy did I feel stupid, especially as I was standing on my neighbour's garage roof at the time and the whole road could see me! At least I wasn't sawing the branch that I was sitting on!

OMG, how funny!! Ok, here's my stupid story. When I lived in Arizona, there were packrats all over the place. They're huge rats that steal toy cars, silverware, anything shiny for their nests as well as eating the wiring on cars (they don't like Toyota for some reason). After taping up the latest damage so I could drive it to the mechanic, I got the airgun and sat down to wait for the little jerks. One soon appeared and I tool aim, squeezed the trigger and he never knew what hit his poor little head. Unfortunately, I forgot the first rule of target shooting--always look and see if there are rocks to bounce off, houses it might hit, etc. The rat was skittering in from of a concrete riser that held the washer and dryer and the pellet went through his head, hit the concrete and got me right in the middle of the forehead. Ouch! That was beyond stupid! If you can top that, I'll give you a medal.

PMPL I have done some incredibly stupid things in my life sweetheart but I have never done this specific incredibly stupid thing before! There are so many other things that I cannot possibly share them with you here - you would never speak to me again! lol xxx

All the time. I feel retarded or illfaited or something. I just laugh it off and go on. Sometimes I just can believe my luck. Who could be that unlucky all the time right. I am. Sounds wierd but it is true. It happens mostly by accident believe it or not.

A lot of years back,when I was in the fourth grade,I think I was invited to a poetry contest.I had composed a poem about my mother and it was my turn to present it.Maybe I was nervous,or just too young to concentrate but I messed up everything,starting with my name and ending with the poem itself.I was really disappointed at the time because I didn't even realize what I had done until they told me... It wasn't such a big deal but I felt incredibly stupid.

I did I did. Once my phone charger went bad. So I tried a 9V cell across the terminals(where the battery goes). The phone bricked and I lost 7k bux. All I had to do was get a new charger from the same market I got the battery. And there was this one time when I was happily smoking. I made a paper ashtray and placed it on my bed and kept stubbing ciggerates in it. So after two ciggerates when I finally looked at the ashtray, there was a huge orange glowing hole in the ashtray. The paper had burnt away and the bedsheet too, now the mattress was slowly burning away. I've done stupider things, but refuse to share them unless ladymarissa comes up with her own

Oh yes... I did something stupid in my life..and the thing is I never learn! how stupid is that? ggrrr! Or.. I can say that I actually did learn but don't want to do the right thing...? coz the id overcomes the super ego AGAIN! then when I realize that it's really wrong that's the time I back off... I really got to know how to control it...

Hmmm, incredibly stupid? I've done a lot of stupid things in my life but none that I could call "incredibly stupid". I was a proofreader for maybe 18 years when I got a new job working as a medical journal proofreader. I knew a lot of medical terminology by sight, but didn't know the correct way to pronounce a lot of them. One day, while I was being trained in this new job, I came across a word that stumped me and asked the guy training me what the word was. The word was "epinephrine" and I had honestly never seen the word before. I asked him, "What is 'E-pine-phrine'?" He laughed so hard he almost had to leave, then explained that it is pronounced, "Eh-pin-eh-frin". "OH! Right!" I had heard the word before, but never saw it written. My brain just saw it differently than it was pronounced. Yeah, I felt REALLY stupid because my supervisor had introduced me to my new group as "the only person to ever catch every error in the proofreading test". Did I ever blush!!!

Hi LadyM, The only thing I can remember doing anything stupid is walking out of the office block after going to the ladies room and had my skirt tucked up in my knickers and someone had to stopme before I went any further to let me know, I felt really stupid. Tamara

yeah there are so many things that are so incredibly dumb. that i am sometimes look more like crazy person than a dumb person. cause i think that many of those dumbest things were just too dumb for most people to commit. there are so many instances but just like you i would rather not share them to people here. cause i am afraid to look so foolish to have done those things. and of course you will get bad impressions about me if i tell all those dumb things that i have committed in my younger years. i still commit many dumb things that i am or still will be ashamed to share of to any one here. it becomes less but it does not mean that they have become less dumb. they are still as dumb as before. cause most of the those dumb things i do now is just like a repetition of those things i have done before. like i have never learned my lesson. because of my think head of mine i am quite slow to learn on my own mistakes. but one thing that i cuold admin is there are some things i still make the same mistakes on some mistakes. and usually when we commit mistakes we will learn not to do that after some time but for the life of me i just can't understand why i forget that i have done those mistakes before and will actually do them again and just realize later that i have done the same foolish things that i am trying or hoping to not to commit again.

I would say I did such things when I was very young. I still remember one thing until now. One day I was playing outside of my house. One man came to me and asked for sth to eat. I went into the house and bring a lot of things to him. My parents came back and found this. They were very angry. Since I just gave too much things to that man.

Let me tell you how stupid i felt after doing this... I am an engineering student.We are a group of four friends and we wait at the bus stop for our college bus.One morning when i reached the bus stop, we were involved in a discussion and suddenly everyone started joking on me,Some comments really hurt me, but it was just simple matters.But i felt very humiliated and I felt like crying.I threw my bag at one of them and ran back home.After reaching home I felt so stupid thati cant imagine that now.I felt like the stupidest person in the world!

*LOL* Wonder if she was blond? Just sayin........*L* I know I have done some pretty stupid things, but I can't think of any at this particular moment.
