It's your choice actually if you don't want to eat there anymore, but don't generalize that all Mcdonald's are like that. It would be best to call the management's attention regarding this so that they can improve in the sanitation of their workstations.

My goodness, I think I would have flipped if I saw a roach in any food selling place! Yuck!! I don't think I'd want to eat there either. I'm surprised they haven't been tagged by the health department about it. Yes, I would be scared to eat there!!

Hehehe, I was thinking about you today too, wondering if you got all moved safely and settled in!! Yes, I know exactly which McD's you're talking about. When I still was able to drive, I knew Cleveland like the back of my hand lol. In my family, when somebody needed to get to Cleve. for anything, I almost always was the driver for them. I've never seen a roach in a restaurant, and if people have seen them in other restaurants then they weren't maintained well. I don't know, but I always thought it was a health code violation to have bugs like that in a food establishment. Could be wrong, but I don't think so. The summer I worked at the bar/restaurant, they had insect control guys come at regular intervals, and I know when the health dept guy came he checked all over for stuff like that. You know, if he enjoys working there, that's still a good thing...just because the place has a problem doesn't mean it's a bad reflection on him lol. I'm just glad he's got a job he's liking!!

Ewe!! I would not want to eat there anymore either if I seen a Roach at a McDonalds. I would also make sure and inform the Manager on duty right away and see what there reaction, etc. would be as well. That is very unsanitary and unhealthy to have something like this in a restaurant. But I guess anything is possible.

Ewwwww!!!! I try not to think about it, but all restaurants are going to get bugs now and then. They have to stay on top of it, as far as keeping them down. They get deliveries all the time. Bugs like to hide in cardboard boxes. Grocery stores have to constantly be on top of getting rid of bugs too. Its something that restaurants and the stores won't admit too, but you will see bugs now and then.

I worked for McDonalds for a short period as a cook. Seeing a roach is not surprising. I saw all sorts of critters running around in the short time that I worked there. It didn't seem to bother the management at all. I saw a roach crawl over a burger that was cooking and I threw it away. I got yelled at but I refused to serve something that had a bug on it. When you are unemployed and seeking work, you will work almost anywhere. However, I couldn't accept their laziness towards hygiene. Needless to say, I didn't stay there very long. I did remark rather loudly that there were bugs in the cooking area. The close customers left, but the management never said anything about cleaning up the area. I refused to work there after that. I also never went back for a burger! If you know the cooking conditions, you won't eat the food. It's a pity the public has to. They need to clean up their act.

Most restaurants occasionally get them, and spray for them regularly. It should be brought to the managers attention certainly, perhaps they are due for a spraying. Roaches are incredibly hard to get rid of. They like to live where it is warm and moist...and they like the environment of the refrigeration compressors. All restaurants have refrigerators. It only takes one stray roach to reproduce...and they do.
When I was in college I took an entomology course (study of insects). The professor used to tell us how angry his wife would be when he accidentally brought one home in his briefcase. They couldn't spray the lab, since there were live specimines, so they had plenty to hitch rides.
