you are going to hear about this new concept called "Tasks". Now I am not on here very often. So seldom in fact, that it probably takes me three months to reach minimum payout. However, recently, I have briefly entertained discussions about the new "tasks". I finally decided tonight to see what the excitement was all about and I can't believe it. From my experience in the past hour, I would give you .20 to take the task away rather than toy with any of them. Searching for keywords and backlinks is not my idea of entertainment nor is it worth the meager .20 they are handing out to complete. I would so much rather stick with the original plan of entering into a good discussion with my friends. So unless, I find a "task" that captivates me more than those I've seen, I'll probably just leave them to those with more time on their hands and perhaps less friends. Whats your opinion of this new concept?

A few people that have responded like them, but more often than not, people seem to think they are a waste of time.

When they first came out I liked it kat honey. It would never have replaced talking with friends here but doing one ever day or two would have been perfect. Writing 4 paragraphs on different topics and getting $2 -$3 for it - I liked that - unfortunately haven't seen these since a few days after tasks were introduced! I won't be b othered with doing searches, backlinks etc either! xxx

very true. i have decided a long time ago to stick with the discussions rather do other things here in mylot just to earn pennies. haven't you noticed that the ones who stayed longer here in mylot are the ones who enjoy discussing rather than trying to earn ? it is the enjoymnet not the earnings, that comes second .

Hello kbourgerie,
I don't know how it will help me to earn here. I just checked twice after they launched it and every time I did, there's no tasks for me to complete! I think I better stick to the original plan and respond to as many as I could. I seldom log in here and most of the time, I always try to clear up my backlog.

The first time I looked, there was no tasks to complete. The last time I looked, they only had these backlink tasks available and obviously, I was not impressed.

The concept of 'tasks' is still new on myLot and probably those involved are trying their best to find the best balance. I do agree that there were tasks which seem to give a small reward for the work done. Looking at it from an angle it can be said that those tasks are beneficial to those who want to hone their skills in certain areas of obtaining information and presenting ideas. Some of us here may look at 20 cents as a big sum when compared to local currencies.
So far I have not done any task because each time the 'task' button was pressed the page was refreshed with no further instruction. I am still trying though.
all the best,
rosdimy

Although, I don't understand honing my skills for .20 I appreciate your positive attitude.

Let's put it this way. Someone submits a completed task. The task is returned due to inadequacies. This person then makes changes and resubmits the task, which is then accepted. This person is actually being sort of guided to produce a better work, and being paid for it. If this person goes to a class or see a tutor most probably money needs to be given to the teacher/educational institution or the tutor.
Therefore seen from the above angle myLot is helping members, something which is rare on the Internet.

I totally agree. The amount of work they are asking for is not worth the meagre 20 cents they are willing to pay. I would not touch "tasks" with a 10 foot pole. I decided a long time ago that MYLOt is not for earning large sums of money. I do it for the same reason you do, to write a few choice bits to friends.

Yes, you would never eat if you had to depend on your earnings from this site. LOL.

i cant be bother about the task at all because I dont even understand the instruction given to complete the task. I am totally noob about that. So I think, reading and respond to discussion is much easier though it took me longer to the payout time. But for me, in mylot, earning money is simply a bonus. My concern is more on having a good discussion with friends and have my problems solved at mylot. cheers and have a nice day!

I can't be bothered with them either they are just completely boring and time consuming. They are worth the money for the time they take to do them. I did one got my .20 and that is it, I am not wasting anymore of my time.

I am so glad to find that I am not the only one that finds them boring and time consuming. Ridiculous.

I am so totally with ya on this one! After the hype that it was given I was pretty disappointed. I tried them for like 10 seconds and decided they just weren't for me. I don't have the time for it and find nothing of value (to me) in them. I'd much rather chat here than look for stupid stuff.

The task I tried to do was simply stupid. I really didn't see the point of it at all.

I first had a quick look at it when they introduced it... and then totally forgot about it... until now... since you brought it up. lol
I only come here to have a chat.
Besides that... I have better things to do than earning cents.

I know, if you are going to have me running around on a keyword goose chase, then at least compensate me for my loss of brain cells which are worth more than .20.

I think some people find it easy to do the certain task. But as for me, I have not done any. I find it more easy to reply to post of others and start my own discussion rather than perform a task. I have only visited the task area once. I have not been backed since the first time I visited it, there were nothing that captivated my interest.

I have been lucky in doing tasks from last few days i have made about $5 from tasks only for which its possible for me to make the minimum payout this month other wise it would take me couple of month what you stated. Actually there are variety of task posted here in time to time, i am interested and successful in image editing type.
From last couple of days there are lots of searching the keyword type tasks available to which i am not interested.

I hope that will change soon, because, I too, am definitely not interested in the keyword tasks either. Congrats on your $5.

I agree that some of the tasks are way to much work for the few pennies they pay, if you get credit for doing it. I did several .10 tasks a few weeks ago and didn't get credt for them. The wanted you to use photoshop to change the size of a logo after finding it on the internet. I don't have photoshop, so I used Paint. They didn't think the images came out clean enough, so I didn't get credit.
But, I did find a task that was worth 3.00. It was researching a product and then writing 4 paragraphs about it. It took me a good 45 minutes, but I made 3 bucks. I haven't seen any like that since.

I have checked out the "Tasks" dashboard a couple of times myself, kbourgerie, and I can't see what all the fuss is about. I agree that they are something that I really don't have the time or inclination to trifle with. When it was announced that myLot was starting this new feature I was exited, but after looking into it Ifeel it's a waste of time.

This is a concept to boost our earnings in mylot along with the discussions.I just had a look at the tasks and i never even tried one. Then all of the tasks got over. Now i again saw tasks in the task tab.I will do it if i have time.People over here complete the tasks very fast.Right now i am on a dialup connection so it may take me long to complete a task.I will go up to my uncles house becaus ehe has broadband an d will try to do some tasks.

I read about it when it first came out but have to admit that I have never even gone over there and checked it out yet. I am very busy and I do not get to come to myLot and enjoy the discussions very often, in fact I work on the computer and I usually only get here when I need a break from what I am doing so I am sorry to say I don't have an opinion about the concept but thank you for the information, I appreciate it!

I think it's a good feature that adds variety for those who get bored with discussions easily and don't like to blog. I myslef would love to start doing some tasks but I'm not going to have the time for a while. But then, I can't say too much good stuff about something I've never used. I guess I think if it's not hurting me, then I don't really care about it's existence.
