You take out a mint and pop it in your mouth and offer one to the other person. That is the most simple and polite way to send a message. Of course you have to make a habit of carrying something like tic tacs with you.

It is really awkward thing to stand right in front of ones who has a bad breath, yeah,i have the experience. One of my colleagues,he has the problem, when he close to me,i can feel the smell,i think he had the teeth sickness,or stomach ill,i guess,it makes me upset, but i couldn't tell him about it. SIGH!

hi my dear freind, for bad breath dealing, i think i will do the same what my friend canellita has written. i have the same thinking and i am of the same opinion that if the other is having a bad breath, one should pop a mint chewing gum and offer thesame to that very person. it is , i believe a very decent way . that person will also not feel bad . and i am also saved from being tortured by his / her bad breath. becasue that breath is so unbearable to tolerate , i believe one should always carry such mint chewing gums with the, my hubby becasue love to chew these gums a lot, he is having a packet always in his car. i dont have any. but after reading this discussion , i think i should also carry a bottle of it always with me.

you could politely offer them a piece of gum or a tic tac. the person might have stomach problems (for some reason, the acid in the stomach affects the breath) also, so you might want to mention it to them in a polite way. I know when my sons stomach is bothering him (he has IBS) because his breath reeks when it is. I'm not sure how helpful this is, but it's something to try.

When talking to people with bad breath, put your head down and pretend that you are shy, he/she could understand your explanation. I tried offering chewing gum and I found out that it was an insult for them because the first question to come in his/her mind is, "what is your intention of offering that?" lol that was funny because i experienced that already...
