My husband, his family and most of our friends are HUGE fans of The Andy Griffith Show. Love the homespun humor and the great lessons the show has. It never loses its appeal. We have seen every episode so many times! We will find ourselves quoting a character very often. Any other fans? Do you have a favorite episode or character. My favorite is Ernest T Bass. TOOO funny! Also its nice to have something to watch that doesn't have nudity, violence and terrible lanquage. I'm not a prude but TV seems to be getting more and more disgusting.

I haven't watched the show in years but I used to be a big fan, too. My favorite character was Barney and his one bullet! I liked Aunt Bea, too, because she reminded me of my grandmother...had the same hair and the same personality.

You are right about the state of television these days. I am thankful that my children still enjoy these types of shows too. Of course, they have seen many of the reruns as I watch them a lot. I believe that Barney would have to be my favorite character as he was always doing something to make himself look dumber than he was. Don Knotts was a funny guy and the equal to Jeff Foxworthy.
