My favorite jungle would have to be in Antarctica. Off the wall "what's your favorite" discussion" Hmmmm. How about - "What's your favorite undiscovered insect genus from the Amazon Basin?"

you need to go with that discussion. my favorite undiscoved insect of the amazon basin is the asssucking blow fly of lower Brazil, not to be discovered until 2010. ironicly amazon.com is taking advance orders right now.

Fascinating! I shall be eagerly awaiting the onset of 2010 then. At least this means we'll get 2 years of this little beauty before the Mayans obliterate us in 2012. My favorite genus is actually going to be discovered on August 17th of this year. It's the "nihilistic nipple felching wart larvae". I wish I had a picture, but we have to wait until August I'm afraid. But if you wish to dig up some sort of mental picture in the meantime, imagine a dung beetle larvae and then remove the dung, beetle and larvae aspects. Got it? Great..... Now add a warty nipple that looks like it's oozing something..... Perfect! Ain't he beautiful!

My favorite jungle is in Guatemala. It is the Tikal National Park. It is full of trees, paths, Mayan ruins and animals. It was amazing to walk through the jungle in the darkness and then climb a Mayan temple to watch the sunrise over the beautiful jungle. I went to Singapore and it is a small country. It has a national park that is rather like a jungle. There are many monkeys there but if caught feeding one there is a rather large fine to pay. Another memorable jungle like setting is Cape Tribulation in Australia. It is known as 'where the rain forest meets the sea'. I also remember seeing fruit bats in the rain forest in Samoa.
