I have just answered a discussion from what I percieved as poor women who had just lost her husband I was very upset, she said she was passing on the sad news to all her husbands friends on mylot.Having just put a letter of condolence decided to read all the other responses found out to my horror it was an april fool joke.Sitting here like so many others missing my Mother who passed away one year to the day 4th april, did not find it very funny at all in fact it has upset me.Having comforted my father for a year,my husband has just got over the death of his father three years ago.I fail to see anything funny in this, perhaps it is a culture difference I am from England,I am sorry but I do not see the joke in this.To loose anybody is bad enough but to find someone actually making a joke out of this sad time eludes me,am I the only one who found this very distressing.Love suzzy.xx

Even I wud say this is, in no sense a joke, or at least something that can be funny, even I have seen many of my friends making so much fun at d fools day... but this is the first time in life that I am hearing such a concept...

I guess some people don't get it what a joke is, I don't find that funny at all as a matter of fact one who believes what you say is putting out there and can make things happen i think it is a stupid thing to do...and i guess in a way its crying wolf....not funny at all....

This so called joke is not the least bit funny. It is in very poor taste and she should be ashamed of herself. Having some die is not any thing to make joke or April fool's joke about. I'm sorry that it brought back bad times to you.

I'm American and I find that in bad taste. There was this girl I knew online, but not in person. She told me she was going to kill herseld and I called her on the phone, because she wanted to talk. So, the next day, she told me she was just lonely and did it for attention. I don't like online drama and lies.

That is sick. No one should ever do that. Some people don't realize how doing that can really effect the loved one of the person. I can take a April Fool as well as the next person but that is way out of line.

We all like a joke when it is funny, and not disrespectful.

there is funny and then there is just rude. the person that started this discussion stepped over the line with no feelings for people that actually may be going through something like this. my dad passed away in early february!

Joking about someone dying isn't much of a joke. I don't care if you haven't lost a loved one. It's just not that funny. I wouldn't have liked that at all. I'd have probably said something awful in return.

Maybe people just want to have time to relax themselves. In my country , the april fool is just a foreigners' thing, but some of the young are interested in making fun of others. And some of them just can't control themselves in the limits.
