Is family planning an effective way to control population?

I have been given a tasks by my Professor in Sociology to have a careful research and study about the Effectiveness of family Planning in controlling the population. I badly need your help and opinions with this guys. Hope you can help me. Thank you very much!

It is because of the Idustrial Revolution that family planning is even an issue. During this time the world begain to produce more food more easily and so the population skyrocketed. Birth controll does not always work, my mom had 3 girls while on the pill, and my sister became pregnant with twins with the implant (unfortunatly she lost them but all is well now) Family planning is much easyer than malnutrition. Birth controll has my vote.

well now, you have your choice. Birth control or more wars. I pick birth control. It's less messy.If you ask your parent then their parents, people were having alot more kids before birth control.
