After all, they start fires... This makes about as much sense as banning guns because they kill people, don't you think?

They shouldn't be banned. What if the power goes off for the entire night? What will we light candles with? How else will anyone light up their farts on that night?

Ahhh yes, farts, another good reason to outlaw matches and lighters!

While we are at it let's ban cars, because they kill people too. Then let's ban shovels, rakes, sticks, rocks, words and ideas, because all of those things have killed people too. Let's ban government, because government is responsible for more deaths than anything else, with their wars, and their murder of people who disagree with government dictates. Let's ban disease and illness, large bodies of water, and high places. All of these things kill too. Why not ban electricity, stupid people, and dangerous wildlife? Better yet, let's ban life... problem solved.

Yes, but North Korea would like to be a smoking hole in the ground. If they didn't want that, then they would not have launched.

Their so out of the loop, Kim has lied so much to his people about himself being God that, like OJ, he really believes he is. He's just nuts! At least the world is with us on this, well at least some of the world...

No, they should not be banned. They should not, however, be accessible to small children and teens. They are tools, like many other things, and are not evil in themselves, just in the neglect of care.

Matches don't start fires...People can start fires!..A matches and lighters ban? sheesh..as ideas go,that's dumber than a bag of hammers...why not ban magnifying glasses too? or maybe do something about the Sun while they're at it? Lightning? Not all fires start with Human involvement!

Well...maybe and why not. I mean they are widely used by the people. In our house we used it to make fire and cooked our foods. Even do lighters are being widely used by smokers it is handy during black out or when electricity is down.

In my area it is cigerates thrown out of vehicles that start the most fires.
