Looking at your Friends here in myLot...

Well honestly, its rather good to have lots of friends, either in real life or even in a site like here in myLot. Whenever I get friend invites, I always try to accept them while viewing their profiles, leave a comment on them to say 'thank you' for their consideration. Aside from those things that I usually do when I get new friends here in this site, I would opt to activate notifications. As a matter of fact, all my friends here in myLot have all their notifications enabled or 'notify is on' so that whenever they start a discussion, I would get emailed about them so that I wouldn't have to go directly to the site. That's kind'a good as I could simply check email at work and keep it seemingly discreet. How about you all? Are all your friends here in myLot have their notifications enabled or notify is on? However, though activated, some discussions and other notifications, like private messages, don't get sent to my email every now and then and I would just find out when I actually get here in myLot.. (^_^")

That has happened to me a few times as well. 'That' being the private message notifications getting lost between mylot and my email.LOL This kind of thing happens with the friend request notifications too. I dont rely on them anymore since Im on myLot most of the time. Id just see those "(1)"'s beside the tab name, may it be on the 'friends' or the 'messages' tab. I just go from there. As for the discussion notifications from friends... I have most of them 'on'. I used to have all of them 'on' but I thought that maybe there is some sort of a bearing with those that actually started a discussion, so those first few pages of friends who seemed to have disappeared, I turned their notifications off. The only other reason why I would turn the notifications off would be when I feel 'spammed'. As in when a friend starts many(as in more than 30) discussions in one day, then some of those discussions seem related to one another, I turn it off just to avoid the effort of sifting through those discussion which I am actually interested to respond and to those bunch that are close to spam.

Indeed, most of the time, I would really just look at the tabs to see if something got added to either friends or messages. It seems like you do have a point when a someone can actually start more than a few discussions but, they are obviously related to each other. Then again, I have encountered members like that, I get notified and most of them, fortunately, don't have discussions related to one another but entirely different from each other. Depends to the members too in that regard perhaps.

i just found out about that only yesterday. i do remeber having activated the notification of the duchess. last night i tried to check the homepage to see why my friends barely started a discussion and there i found it. maybe it's this thing that mylot uses as a cut-off when they send emails that some of our friends' discussions somtimes aren't sent to us.

It would be nice if things really worked well like clock work but, things just have to not work all the time in favor for everyone. Notification sent through email, I guess our emails would be flooded if we always get notified (^o^ )
