Ah, but did the sack of potatoes crucify themselves for you, descend into the smoking hell of the fryer and transmogrify before you as fries on a plate or did you have to do these things yourself?
Spud helps those who help themselves, you know.
"This is My body which was grown in the earth for you ..." .... [passes the ketchup] ... "This is my blood ...."

I say eye-men to that!
I just remembered a verse that my mother used to recite:
Dearly beloved bretheren, is it not a sin
That when we peel potatoes we throw away the skin
For the skin feeds the pigs and the pigs feed us,
Dearly beloved bretheren, is it not thus?
It was accompanied by a little hand play which was supposed to show the parson (the right thumb) climbing the stairs to the pulpit (the left hand curled round the thumb). The 'parson' then said his piece (above).

What an irony! Unfortunately, the context of that verse do not play well with our wants but rather what the heavens want for us to wish for.

It seems that God helps those that help themselves.
Enjoy your fries!

I believe in God but I'm not the kind of believer who prays to God in order to receive my "needs and wants" for my life.
I don't pray to God for blessings because I believe these blessings are already provided. That's my personal interpretation of that verse, "ask and you shall receive". You shall receive because it's been provided already. All you have to do now is work hard for it.
I respect your decision for not believing though. Peace always!

I think the devil is working on you! ha Maybe God didnt think your prayers sincere?? I dont know , I just know sometimes the answer is No , and sometimes it is showing you a new door and teaching patience. You know how on tv it says for the emergency broadcasting- "this is a test, it is only a test" -I feel that way sometimes when I pray and want a fast answer!! I know He has a plan for our lives and it is not always OUR will but His.

The US is changing to accommodate people that don't speak our language because they want to move here to better themselves. We are expected to change pour language so the we can understand people that don't speak English. Maybe God is confused and thinks that your praying for more of what you already have instead of less and less of what you are asking for more of.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people moving here to better themselves or to have a better life, I just think that they should change to accommodate themselves.
They should learn the language of the country that they are moving to.

*passes ketchup and catsup* So you have a choice I say. What else do I think about that. Matthew 7:7. But for prayers as large as world peace, it will take alot of us asking at once. And as for Finances, well, opportunities abound, I am sure one will find you sooner or later.
