In many countries in the world rice is the staple food, and it is considered as the most important part of the meal. But for me, I can live without eating rice eventhough I'm from one of those countries that considered rice as their staple food.
Actually its been 4 years since I last tasted rice.
How about you? Can you survive without eating rice?

I can survive without rice, I can eat pasta, bread or mashed potatoes to replace rice and have the same carbohydrates needed. Here in our country rice is the staple food but having a swiss boyfriend made me tried different cuisine and eat less rice.

I got the same thing trying to stop eating meat because I wanted to become vegetarian. I could live without rice because its a food I don't eat a lot of.

That is very true! Because on my first three weeks of not eating rice I also experienced headache and feeling dizzy, maybe because my system is still adjusting. But after 2 months I never felt that again until now (It's been 4 years).

Hi there! Wow! Four years without rice? I could not even last a day without eating rice because it is a staple food here in my country. And honestly, I really can't survive without eating rice. I salute you for that!

Hi! I think I'd die if I don't eat rice for days, . I used to think this way before, but I've tried for a week without eating rice and surprisingly I survived, lol! I love rice and grew up eating it, I can't even imagine of not having rice at least once or twice in a week though, but I will surely survive without it.

yes i can as long there is meat i don't need rice. just that if you don't eat rice will feel easily hungry, but to me meat is good enough for me.this is why i love western food than Chinese food, cause i can't live without meat.

As a replacement I usually eat the following:
Bread plus meat or fish- usually for lunch and dinner
Pasta - for lunch or dinner (once in a while)
Mashed Potatoes/Baked Potatoes - for breakfast, lunch or dinner (once in a while)
Cereals - usually for breakfast
Basically I eat anything except rice. HEHE!

Hello there! I can say that I can survive without eating rice. Though I am still used to eat it. I think before I can fully achieve it, I have to undergo a lot of preparations. If I will do that abruptly, that will be a crash diet which not healthy. So it should be done at a time. Less rice each day until no rice at all. We can also think of other alternative for rice. I'd like to be a vegetarian too but I have to sacrifice a lot of good foods to eat. Hehe!

No!
Rice is a staple here in southeast asia.
I eat it everyday.
and i LOVE it.
There are even rice burgers, where the bun is replaced by rice.

I do not have rice that often, so I guess I could live without it. I do enjoy it as a change of pace. I especially like it with milk and honey and maybe some raisins and cinnamon. I consider this like a dessert.
I can understand how you feel, though. I grew up in a German household and my father insisted on potatoes at every meal or he did not consider it a meal. While I can enjoy a potato from time to time, it certainly is not my first choice!

ya, for sometime got to enjoy having no rice. this is the story behind, when my mom had a high blood pressure that was the time all of us in the family had to skip from eating rice. Instead replace it with root crops, pasta & oatmeals. having to have soft diet, was good to experience. very light body and can easily do task as needed.

Maybe i can survive without eating rice but i cann't have a good life without it.Now i eat rice twice a day. There are few food i can choose as my main course. If i won't eat rice i have to eat steamed bread. But steamed bread is too soft and small.Rice is cheaper and more delicious. So i love it.
