I just wonder why people don't go for avatars. Don't they find a matching one or are they so lazy that they don't opt for posting their avatar.
May be they are using Google Chrome as their surfing browswer, which doesn't allow you to post picutres!
Question: How long did it take for you to have an avatar for your profile?
My Answer: Wasn't long at all! I got my avatar right from the begining!

Having an avatar describes what kind of a person you are, or it tell others what are your likes. Most of the people do not want to show it to others, that might be one of the reasons why they dont keep an avatar, but not keeping an avatar also further explains what kind of a person they are and a reason to start a discussion... lol.
I didn't find any of the avatar that suits me, so I kept a part of me as my avatar, I guess eyes of me really explains what kind of person I am... lol.

How is mine?
it doesn't make any difference with the work they are doing here ... i mean responding a discussion and arising discussions to get answers. It is just an option which makes a little difference with their profile Id. Everything is going fine. Moreover most of we Myloters are using pseudo names other than their original names and Mr. Shakespeare has already stated that "What's in a name" then a profile Avatar hardly matters ... isn't it?

I think they prefer to stay anonymous and dont know what they would put there. I like changing mine up too now that someone told me how to change it! I think some are just not here for the "frills" and may think it is silly to do so. Its just a preference matter.

Being faceless has its own advantage and here 99% members are faceless. What's more they are nameless too. However, Avatar is not related with it. They can chose anything.
I got my avatar, like you, from the very first day. I don't see any reason, why people don't go for it. Though there is a default avatar..but that looks trite, since so many guys are there with default avatar.
Some avatars here are amazing which shows the diversity in thinking that humans have. I have also seen an avatar where an angel is stripping her upper cloth.

Being bodyless and only having a face has it's advantages too...

I signed up only 30mins ago and the first thing I did was find where to upload my avatar, its a great way for people to recognise who you are, everybody should have one!

I also don't understand why some people don't set their own avatars. As it's easy to get to know who they are. I don't like the default avatar very much as it seems that you are a new member or someone who doesn't want to be friends. I use my son's avatar for Mylot. I changed it twice since I have been a member here.
I love China

Oh gosh I didn't mean to call anybody and their avatars stupid. I was in a bad mood yesterday and sometimes say (write) things I don't mean. Sorry about that! And I have seen some really AWESOME avatars. I saw the coolest one yesterday...wish I had found it first!

Please don't try to take out your anger on other mylotians, it would give a bad impression on them about you!
I have visited your profile and I am quite surprised that you are 2 years old at mylot and still you didn't have started much discussion and you have only 160+ beside your name, why is that?

I got my avatar a few moments after i registered here in myLot. I didn't even change it since. Maybe some people are too in a hurry to earn that putting up an avatar would just be wasting time. Some people may like it the way it is.

Wasting time!I can tell you an event.
One days I saw a person running with his bicycle. I asked is their any problem with your cycle.
He said, "no, I don't have any problem with it.".
"then why are you not riding it instead of running."
"I don't have time to ride!"
Understood?

Do we really want photos of ourselves plastered all over the internet for all to see? My answer would be no; I don't want people to see me on the internet, nor do I want to post any pictures on a forum site (even if it is Mylot). I think our profiles are good enough with letting everyone know what we look like.

I am not asking you to post your own picture but something which you like the most. I have an avatar in which a girl is saying "Let's spend the night together!". I like the pic as well as the quote. So, I used it.
Besides, don't feel bad but no avatar doesn't give a good impression to me.

I have changed my avatar twice already. This second one is GIR donning his doggie costume from Invader Zim. The other one was my "evil eyes" (LOL). I think it's better to have avatars because it can tell you something about the person. For instance, my avatar will tell you that I'm a fan of doggies and cupcakes. (hahaha)

I think they aren't having something that suits their personality...
or at least something they like...so they better leave it blank, or one more possibilty can be ....they are just unaware of how to upload the pic...
Can be...for new users...

Hi sanuanu, there is definitely a reason for some of the members here do not like to edit their own avatar. Just like us, we don’t like to use our own portrait picture as our avatar too, right?! Everyone has his right to use whatever image (as long as it doesn’t violate mylot guidelines of course) they wish to set as their avatars, including the default one.
I don’t care much about how the avatars of my friends look like. I have more interest that I could have friends with common interests, and we could have more mutual interactions. From our happy chitchat frequently, I could imagine how my friends’ appearances really look like. It doesn’t matter, in case they are not matching actually, for we are friends in virtual world here only. Imagination is always beautiful!
I picked a lion dance photo as my first avatar the first day I signed as mylot member. The current one is my 4th avatar. Hope that you would like it
Happy posting and take care.

The water lily with purple petals in my avatar just looks like a blue star! Thanks for loving my avatar as well as the star. I believe you love the blue star above it more than my avatar, right? Be patient my friend, if you keep on working here, very fast your star will change into the lovely and dreamed blue color.
What to say if one of your friends likes to change his avatar frequently. Yeah, when chatting with you here and looking at your avatar at the same time, seems that I’m talking with a beautiful and sexy angle, but not a guy
I like to type the username of my friends when starting typing. This could help me to remember the usernames of my friends, even if they have changed their avatars. I could hardly remember friends that are seldom having mutual interaction. I still can remember you if you try to change your avatar hourly or daily

Oh, you caught me. Of course I like to have 10 star with me but I don't want that before I can do justification with that. I want to improve my writing skills so that any newbie sees my post can gurantee that star rating has its importance because I have seen people having great knowledge with low star and people with relatively less knowledge with 10 star with them, which is sad.
I remember your user name because it is short and simple but if you would change your avatar then I would have to especially remember your user name to think that if it is really you. for me avatar is best as and I will feel a little uncomfortable with people changing their avatar.
I am still workig on my new avatar and I think it would take a little longer than expecte to see my new avatar. Sorry for making you wait.

I said, I like your avatar and it resembles with your 10 star rating too!
It could be personal reasons but if mylot would use "NO PHOTO" as a default photo then more and more people would start using avatars. I mean we used to think alot for our user name then for the sake of our friends we can use avatar so that our friends can recall us by only avatar!

I picked my avatar for MyLot the first day I signed up. I've changed it many times and right now it is our cat, Morgana, decked out for Easter. There are two problems with not picking an avatar. First, is that it gives ppl the impression that your not going to be around long...that your just here briefly (possibly trolling). The other problem is that it doesn't make you more noticable to your friends. Most ppl will remember a picture or an easy id name much more quickly than a generic green guy and a bunch of mixed up numbers or letters.
As to why ppl don't change it, I don't know. It's really easy to do, there are millions of pics to choose from and it only takes a few seconds to do.

Hi Sanadoodoo...lol..I am getting used to calling you that..
I just use a picture of myself. Thats who I am and who is writing in these discussions. I like to see who Im talking to although some of the avatars are fun. SO here I am, if Im too ugly to look at, then try replying in the dark....or should I send you that new keyboard and spellcheck too?

Hi Sanyorita,
I won't say if you are ugly or beautiful but I would say that I like this avatar very much. The smile in it what attracts me a lot. Beauty is God gifted but we can always put a smile to increase the charm of our face. Sad faces don't give pleasant look at all.
So, the bottom line is, if I could have met you in your unmarried age, I could have proposed you for marriage.
But that doesn't mean that I don't need that keyboard which automatically corrects the errors!

Awww!..so very nice of you sanadoodoo..I love to smile and not frown, I too think smiles are so much better than a sad face..Good try, but you still arent getting the new keyboard with spellcheck..you dont need it!!

Don't you think that with avatars we remember a person more than his/her account name?
The next day if you would see my avatar, you would remember that you posted a reply in my discussion but if I don't put any avatar you may not recall with the user name, Am I right?
