I a medical transcriptionist and we have to transcribe the patient's reports of different countries and send them back through internet. One time I had been doing a child specialist and most of the cases where child abuses. I was shocked to hear the number of cases that comes on the child abuses and the age of the children. Most of them were very young and the youngest were around 3 months old and it was really shocking. Most of the child abuses were done by the stepfather, brother, cousins, babysitters, etc, etc.. What to do to prevent the child abuses? What is it happening? Are people who do suffering from psychological problems?

I am a advocate for abused women and children and if you know the chldrens information such as name, address, and phone number, then you call the National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). When you call them you give all the information you know and it is totally up to you to either be annonymous or give your name and information.Child abuse if such a terrible thing and it scars these children for years just as it did me, but now I have a chance to help women and children of abuse by being an advocate. Thank you for being concerned and wanting to help.

It's very hard to prevent it, but we certainly can save a child from further abuse. I once berated a mother inside a restaurant's comfort room because she slapped her hard on the face. All because the little kid couldn't hold it, waiting in line for her turn to use the cubicle. Imagine what goes on at home when no one is looking. We can always do something about it. There are organizations we can call, or we can report it to the proper authorities. The important thing is not to turn a blind eye to what's going on around us. There are a lot of sick people out there, and they are left in charge of helpless children.
