Best Time To Start A New Discussion

Has anyone noticed if there is a better time to start a new discussion to maybe get a more lively response/discussion going? There's been times where I've started a new discussion early morning here (aust) which only get a couple, if any, responses - now that could be just because they are not interesting to start with or I wonder if it's more to do with the fact that early morning here is probably very late evening or middle of the night for the majority of people. (Naturally I'd rather it be that than think about the fact that I suck at starting new discussions :-) ) I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this - and if there is a better time of day to start a new discussion? - because like I've found unless it gets noticed reasonably quickly it moves beyond the first page or so - and is then generally never seen again :-) This one is about to be posted on a Sunday afternoon (3:15pm to be more precise) so it might be interesting to start taking note of discussion times and responses

I haven't been active on this site in a long time so my experience may be null and void by now but I don't think it is so much when you start the discussion but more how many friends you have because my friends are the only ones who ever commented. If i had to guess a time of day I would say probably early evening like 5:00 pm and after because on any site there are more people online at those times.

i guess late in the afternoon is the best time to start a discussion. i also noticed that when i started a discussion at those time people tend to response as compared as starting a discussion in the morning. be happy.

I think the best time to start a new discussions is during night time, because this is most of the time people are using the computer after work and household chores.

Okay, I see it as started 16 hours ago - on CDT in the U.S. I pretty much only respond to friends discussions, except when I see on of my favorite interests (cats, writing, reading) on the top of my page as recently started discussions. So, as a friend, you are getting responded to, even tho it is 16 hours later - I've been playing catch up on my discussions, since I got behind this week because my sister was in town.

yes I have noticed that. I find when I post disucssions at night (China), about 10 pm, there will be more response than discussions posted in the morning, I believe chinese members compose a large part in mylot. in 10 pm, before people getting to bed, they may like to check on how much money they earn in mylot during the previously day, the result usually come out at 11 pm, so to post at 10 pm is the perfect time in China.

Although im new and yet to start any discussions here I know your issue all to well in other sites, Im guessing by aust you mean Australia? I'm actually also in Australia and i find the best time to post is late at nite (about 10pm or after) this is usually when people from the US are on (which the majority of site users are usually from the US) Either you can stop and join the discussion or go to sleep and wake up with plenty to read!
