I have a son that is 10 years old and is having a hard time. He is officially an angry child. He throws tantrums including overturning chairs in the dining room and has taken a golf club to his walls in his room. He has destroyed his clothes chest and has taken his bed apart. Last night he overturned a shelf full of odd items including glass items that broke. He is a child of divorce. His father and I divorced when he was 3 and I got remarried when he was 5. He would like to live with his father who is basically unfit as he lives with his parents, does not have a job, is in and out of jail, and does not provide child support. He has gone to a therapist for 4 months now, but I had to start him on a new therapist who is great, but he has only seen three times. He usually throws these fits when he does not get his way. I am on top of disciplining him, but it does not seem to help. He can be sweet one minute and a monster the next! I make him clean up all messes he makes, I take all of his priveleges, and more, but he continues to act like this. His therapist does not feel like he needs to be on medication, however he acts so crazy, I'm beginning to wonder. He does go on spurts. He will be great for 2 weeks, and then start this stuff for another month or so. I am out of options. Does this sound like your child? Has anyone ever experienced such behavior from their child? I'm interested in your thoughts and answers.

What is the explanation of the therapist about your child's condition? It is best if you know what is the diagnosis of his case. Is it really a simple cause of trauma from a divorce parents? I hope that you can cure his tantrums for the next few days or months.
