Why mens cricket team get so much media coverage?

For the past few years cricket has become a religion in India. Whenever there is a match, people are guled to the television as if they are going to get some money out of it. Watching criket is ok. But why to give so much hype to the mens team. The media has played an important role in this. Is any one aware that the womens cricket team stood 3rd in the last world cup that was played recently?

Dear friend it is with everyone. every country has an champion in one type of game or other . So whenever their is any hope for betterment and media support is available for bringing glory to nation it will became a national interest and offcourse good money flow and media mangement works well to keep peoples updated and keep the game popular and this is all happens with cricket.
