Dishing Out More Than 10 Best Responses In A Day!~ How Do You Do That?!

OK, I must admit. I did that. How did I do that? The answer is plain simple - I was LAZY!~ Haha!~ So yes, I clicked my "unresolved" tab under discussion & saw they were piling up, so I had to do something so that's when I started to dish out those best responses, haha!~ So that's my lazy story, haha!~ But my true question is this - is there a specific criteria on how & whom you give your best response to? Yes, I know I've seen similar discussions started on this topic but honestly, is it based on your mood? Or is it because some just offended you in a discussion that you deny the person the BR tag even though you think that's the best? Is it because of the thread is really LOOOOOOOONG? So is it quantity or quality? Or is it because you would just want to encourage someone just because the person is new? Well, I sometimes do that if the person has a quality response & if the person is new, although sometimes someone else might have a better response but have received a few BRs from me already. So is there a standard criteria for you or are there any other fluctuating factors like mood, etc? Let's be honest

Hey zweeb82~! That dishing out more than ten best responses got me doing the same thing. I even started quite a bit on those discussions that I haven't resolved for over a year! Anyway, criteria for judging you say? Well, as long as they would provoke a good idea in the discussion, I guess I would award that person the best response. Then, there are discussions of mine which only has one post, who else would I give the best response to then but, to that person. Its all subjective as we all know it. As longa as you agree and even if another one would suddenly participate in the discussion with a better response, we all know that what could be the best response for others wouldn't always be similar to others who get to read them. That's why I sometimes take too much time on granting anyone a best response but, after reading your discussion, I slightly got the motivation to 'participate' on this part of myLot.. Hmmm, would granting best responses to other members earn us too? I mean, it is part of 'participation' after all, right? (^_^")

Well, it is somewhat a nice surprise for those to get notified in their email stating that they got a best response from the discussion that they participated over a year ago

Haha!~I guess we're in the same boat? Hahaha!~ Yeah, the only response will automatically get the best response, haha!~ I've got one that I have started a year ago with still 0 response*hint hint* Haha!~I think the BR helps in participation, at least that's what I think. Oh well, just speculation

10 best responses in a day.. I dont have that many discussions yet. Well I basically go for what has touched my heart. You know there is this one response which kind of strikes a cord somewhere deep. You totally agree with the view. Which may be against or for the topic but still it agrees with you somewhere. Or the responder has really given the response in a passionate way. Salute to such responses. In the fun discussions, well it is just what you feel is right at that moment of time.

I have a lot of unresolved discussions myself but not sure I could ever hand out 10 in a day or more. That would be going thru a lot of discussions for sure. I am trying to catch up with some of my older ones though, and then work on my Newer ones, so it gives people plenty of time to respond back to my discussions for sure.

Although I may postpone the giving out of BR, but during the replying to discussions sometimes I would just make a mental note so I would more or less know who to give them to but I'll wait to see if someone else comes along & give a better response. If not, the BR will normally go to the person I've spotted out earlier

Most of the time, I will give out the BR based on the first response that impressed me. It can either make me laugh. Or it can make me understand something better. Or it can make me think really hard about something. This is all depending on the topic the discussion is about. Mostly based on feelings when reading the post. And it is usually first come first served in that discussion. If I did not feel that there is anything impressive about the response (IMHO), then no BR will be given to that discussion thread. Simple to follow, easy to manage.

Yeah... some times, when you are busy, going back to review a discussion is the last thing you want to do! The method is tried and tested. Easy and simple to follow!

Yeah, going back to review can be a very tedious job especially when we're so busy & fighting for time!~

lol =D Actually i also dunno really know how i managed to give away my BR.. hehe ^_^ I guess most of the time, it's based on my feelings.. As long as i feel happy towards that particular respond, i will award them with the pencil ^_^ Frenz or regular respondent does not part a play to awarding of my BR ^_^ Thus, i always try to make it a point of waiting for 3 months or so before giving out those precious pencil.. However, there will be times of exception whereby i din wait till 3 months, but there are many times whereby i forgotten about it.. lol =D

Wow!~ 3 months!~ That's quite a long wait, or you just plainly forgot?Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black, haha!~Yeah, I agree there are those rare occasions where the response is like very outstanding & catches my attention right away!~

One long write out there you have.....but for me I hardly start discussion and when I do I am not really bothered about even giving the best respond...hoyo can't even recall if I did give anyone best response or not...kinda lazy to start discussion unless a topic just comes to my mind. I rather respond to discussions - and not to ong long write outs but discussions which are mostly on daily stuff like kitchen, food , cooking....too lazy to read those long ones - too deep and take up too much time ............

Yeah, I know you seldom start discussion & are not bothered with best responses!~Me on the other hand am lazy to give responses as well? Haha!~Yes, and I know you don't like LOOOOOOOOOOOONG discussion write outs as you're too lazy to read them as well!~

Well, it actually really depends on the person who starts the discussion as these things are very subjective? If you ask me now based on which criteria I also can't really tell you because sometimes you get so many good responses it's really hard to decide?

So that's how it works. I have been putting in long responses to discussions....really putting time and effort into most of them, without getting a best response. I thought that I would have gotten at least one. Maybe short and sweet is the way to go?

I give the best response to the person who responds the best to the topic at hand. I choose the one who gives the best detail also.

Hello zweeb! So you gave your 10 best responses today? Oh wow! How come I haven't received any? lol! I actually never did that yet. I gave a maximum of 5 best responses a day and it only happened once. My criteria actually is based on how me and the responder interact. You know what I mean? At first, it's not my criteria but then as time goes by, I decided that the best responder must really deserves it and I believe that the more we interact, the bigger the chance the responder will receive the best response.

Hmm....let me see, I was in the process of giving out the responses until I had to take a break to watch High School Musical 3 with my wife, haha!~ And now I'm back. Let me see if I can spare you some...hmm...let me check whether you're in my good books, haha!~

I bet I can top you....LOL, I was pretty lazy and forgot about mine for about 2 weeks. Normally I like to do them about every 5 days but I was focusing on another site and putting in little time here....well when I remembered I had like 4 pages to resolve....LOL, so I bet I did about 35 in a day once last month. Now I will try to stay more on top of it, but it was just overlooked for about a week or two..... but hey, at least you got them done!!

Hahaha!~ have to say that you win on this one!~ Haha!~I think that might be one of the reasons I don't start too many discussions as I might one day open up my "unresolved discussions" & find 10s of pages of them, haha!~

When I choose my best responses I look for how relevant it is and how much it touches my heart. I usually dish out about one or two a day but I think that you need to establish a criteria to decide who you dish them out to. Respect the opinions of others and do not refrain from giving them out to people that you do not agree with. Also look for answers that will help other people as well. Good luck and happy mylotting.

Yup, relevant & touches my heart are definitely a couple of my criteria. So is that your standard criteria or does it swing according to your mood as those both criteria are very much dependent upon the situation at that moment you're in?
