Stray? Pet Shop? Elsewhere? All my cats are stray. I feel sorry for them. I provide them shelter, food and care and they provide me with love.

Arthur was living in a house with many many cats. These others picked on him and wouldn't let him eat. He flew from Massachusetts to us in Virginia and eats just fine here. Josie came from the local shelter. She was being shown in a cage in a local cat-friendly store. Peaches was abandoned by her owners and stayed in a cage in a vet's office for 7 months. A friend flew her to us from Georgia. She has a great many issues, but is no longer in danger of being PTS. Paisley was tossed into a dumpster in Ohio. She came by car to us, thanks to many helpful cat lover. All our cats are rescues in one way or another.

But my dad and my mom was sitting on a store while eating and there is so many cats in that store one tiny white cat seats in between my parents and my dad brought him to our house. My parents thought it went home but I actually found him Jodi g in one of our pails... Lol! And he officially become part of the family.

That's why they said cats choose us, not we choose them

Mine are rescues - of some fashion or another. For example, while some were given to us as beloved pets, it was to save them from being surrendered to the shelter. Rygel came to us from his birth home, but the people were tired of the mother, so rather than let her (and the kittens) be kicked out, I took the lot and found homes for all but him - now, we probably could've found him a home too, but he was turning out to be too helpful with Oliver - and you see him and Oliver in my avatar. Kit and Chalube came from a rescue center, but the lady was giving up finding them a home and since the roomie and I were the only ones that EVER looked at them, she said she'd give them to us if we promised to never try to rehome them - that was 5 years ago. This same lady gave us a white cat that someone dumped at her adoption event - she didn't charge me for him since she hadn't even done anything for him. I took him to the vet, got his injuries treated and got him fixed.

That really is a nice thing to do. I used to adopt cats that were leave in front of my house from heartless owner. They used to love the cats but hate them when they grow up.

I actually prefer grown cats to kittens, its a good thing because they are only kittens for a few months and then they are grown cats for YEARS! I end up with lots of cats because people find that those grown cats need to be fixed to stay kitten like and they are too cheap to do it.

Our lovely two cats came from the local RSPCA centre, so we have rehomed two unwanted cats. They are very well loved by us and the children

That is nice Anne18, if I would do the same too if I were you. I heard animals in the shelter will kill if no one adopt them, that really is sad.

I worked for 2 different vets for 10 years each and I got all of my pets, past and present, there. I currently have 7 cats Chunky Monkey and Oliver are bottle fed brothers that were brought in as 2 day olds, they are 7 now. Piglet is my first bottle fed kitty, she is 13 now. Victoria Rose is a seal point himalayan, 15 now, got her at 12 weeks from a client that bought her and decided she was to much work. Emily is an exotic shorthair persian, got her at 6 mos when her breeder brought here is to put her to sleep because her nose is deformed, and she snuffles and sneezes, she is 10. Minnie Moose was brought in to be put to sleep because she was to fat, 24 lbs, she was 7, I have had her 2 years. Bucky is a stray and the only cat I found as a kitten, he is now 7. They are all members of my family. I recently had to move after loosing our home to forclosure. I refused to give them to a shelter as everyone wanted me to and packed them in carriers, along with my 2 dogs and packed a huge uhaul with the contents of a 4 bedroom house and drove from southern calif 700 miles to northern calif following my brother in law in the moving truck. We are now in a new home, although, smaller we are all together!

Hi prinzcy, nowadays I don’t have much time to take care of any pet so I don’t keep cat as my pet for quite a long time. One of my old colleagues’ Siamese cat gave birth to 4 little lovely kittens decade of years back. He knew that I love cat as well, so he asked me to pick any one from them. I then chose my favorite one and kept it as my pet. The little baby cat looked pretty cute. It had snowy white fur and its appearance was so sweet. It was really lots of fun to play with such adorable little one during my spare time. Happy posting and have a nice day.

One of my cats is an offspring of my brothers cat, one is a stray, and two more really belong to my neighbor, but they live with me.

We got our cat from a shelter. There are two shelters in my town, and our cat, Kalinka used to live in one of them. We called the place at first and a woman told us that at the moment there was only one cat that was ready to get a new home, she asked ud if we wanted to see her and of course we did. We fell for her straight away. She is multicoloured (black, white, brown and red) and she is very cute. We couldn't take her home with us that day, but we arranged to pick her up in the end of the week. She has been staying with us ever since and she is a wondeful cat

Of my 3 current cats I only adopted 1 and got the other 2 in a pet store, i was underage when i got all of them so the buying option was chosen by my parents. But since being an adult i did rescue a couple of strays but unfortunately neither lived very long :( one was a manx that was only 9 weeks old when I found her but for some reason her spine didnt grow right and she had other internal issues so we had to put her to sleep at about 10 monthes old. The other was a stray that I had to work at getting domesticated, at first she wouldnt get close enough to let her be pet but it took time but once I could I took her in but when I took her to the vet I found out she had feline leaukemia :( another person took her in and cared for her a couple months before she needed to be put to sleep. I am all for taking in strays but its sad that it doesnt always work out

All 4 of my cats came from the local animal shelter that I used to work at. Two of them, Rita and Hershey were kittens that started out as "fosters" that I became too attached to to give back. The other 2, Pika and Butterfinger I adopted as adults after Hershey got too sick to treat and had to put down. Unfortunately Rita didn't really take to the new cats, but later on we adopted a dog (who also started out as a "foster" ;) and the 2 of them are best of friends. I'm still hoping that Rita will warm up to Pika and Butterfinger and that the "cat drama" will stop soon ;)
