Do You Suffer in Silence or Do You Wear Your Feelings on Your Sleeve?

I myself suffer in silence, I keep my feelings inside and suffer in silence. I know that this is not heathly but it is just the way I have been dong it for 30 years and old habits are hard to break. I just do not want to hurt others, however if it is something that I feel is important to say I think about it for days to find the right way to talk about it so that I do not hurt others or so that it will not grow into an arguement. So how about you, you suffer in silence or do you wear your feelings on your sleeve for all to see?

I don't want to suffer in silence. I always need a friend to comfort me. Someone i can share all my feeling. Its easy for me to let go if i share it with somebody.

same here. i kept silent when i am hurt. i cry on my own. just like now, i just recently got my heartbroken. i want to tell him how much pain he has given me. but i don't him to be hurt too, because party, our break up was my fault. but i want to let him know how i feel inside me. it is burning. turning me to ashes. i wish i can say everything to him in person. maybe, we should try to practice telling what and how we feel. they say, it is healthy that way.

Sorry for your pain and I agree about practiceing telling what we feel but where do you start when you feel guilty after telling them. Thanks for your input and once again I am sorry for the pain you are in.

I do a bit of both. The only way I am safe is to suffer alone, in the dark abyss of silence and seclusion - otherwise I'll be told to grow up or to get a life or to just flat out shut up. When I wear it on my sleeve, people will ask me what's wrong and it's just obvious that I feel bad. I will say nothing is wrong, but continue to suffer. Suffering is kind of a hobby of mine lol. I like to hide it for the sake of people around me. My therapist says my "brain waves" from some kind of scan detect some empathy thingy. I guess that means I can feel other people's feelings and feel it FOR them or something... which is also why I may suffer in silence. It's difficult to explain... But yea. MOSTLY in silence I'll suffer the tears of a thousand souls.

Hello friend, I am of the type who does not show his emotions, come what may. I believe getting mad at someone or getting angry and doing foolish things like banging the plates on the floor or something like that is a waste of human time, emotions and energy. When I am sad, I keep it to myself. I never share it with anyone and I try to find out the solution myself. Even if I am angry at someone, I would not shout at the person. I would just stop behaving normally or talking to the person and would leave it upon him to realize that he has done something wrong.

I keep all the problems and sufferings to myself. I do not look for sympathy from others. Sometimes it is tough to keep silent. But I accustomed to it.
