I didn't like her from the very beginning. Maybe I just didn't get her singing style but she just annoyed me. I think if I put all things aside and just listened to her voice, I THINK she MAY have sang Put Your Records On or Black Horse in a Cherry Tree type music but it still wasn't great to me. I was THRILLED when she was voted off. It couldn't have come sooner in my honest opinion. A friend of mine liked her but then soon changed her mind. And then, what was up with her last week when she was cawing like a bird? Is she all there? I think she must have forgotten to take her pills that day! And to not care? It was apparent that she really didnt care since she never even took an ounce of the judges critisism to try to help improve herself! What about you guys, did you like her?

Nope, never did like her. I actually tended to mute her performance after a few seconds because her voice just grated on my nerves. Her voice was not meant for the American Idol songs...I can see it maybe being a good voice for something else. I was SO happy when she was kicked off...I knew she would never win but I was tired of having to listen to her. There are so many people with talent on this show that she was just getting in the way. Thank goodness she is gone...but I am sad to say that I don't want to see AI live because I wouldn't be able to handle her and a couple of the others live. Maybe next year I will like enough of the top 10 to actually go...this year I only liked 5.

Thanks so much for commenting! I'm actually having a hard time deciding who I like the MOST... I like Matt, Danny, Adam, Kris, & Allison! If I had to choose 2 I couldn't, I can choose 3 by dropping Kris & Allison... but otherwise, I'm happy...

LOL... I'm in LOVE with Justin Timberlake and Matt not only sound like him, he sorta looks like him too so he's definately a top 3 for me LOL... Danny was my pick from auditions so he's probably still my #1 but can't I just have a 3-way tie for 1st?

Yea. Also didn't..don't like her. I never liked her singing style. Her voice is like an "acquired sound" if that makes sense. HAHA. I really can't seem to appreciate her voice, until now. In fact when I caught her audition, I was like " She so won't get in" and then my jaws dropped when Simon was like "best audition so far" or something like that. And yup, I was so happy she got the boot. Haha. Especially when Ryan said that she was going home and she said "It's okay," it's as though she didn't like to stay after all. She also got that when Simon told her to "just sing" because they won't even bother to decide whether or not to save her

I loved Megan Joy. She was unique and pretty (not that that has anything to do with her music but it made her "marketable"). I had said somewhere else on here that her voice reminded me of Zooey Deschanel's, and it does, but more so she reminds me of Jessica Charlotte Poland, the voice behind the Charlotte Sometimes persona. http://www.myspace.com/charlottesometimes I didn't ever get that she didn't care. She got very conflicting messages from the judges... One week she'd hear that the best thing about her was that she was original and refreshing, the next week they'd tell her to be just like everyone else. And not even that, the judges weren't in agreement. Two of them would tell her her performance was amazing and the other two would tell her it was horrible. So she did what anyone in that position could do...take what she thought had value and work on that. If one person tells you you're great and another hates it, you naturally are going to go with the favorable reaction. If you always believe the negative reactions, you'll never accomplish anything. As for her reaction to being voted off... She didn't say she didn't care, which is apparently what Simon heard, she told the audience not to feel bad for her when they started to boo and awww. She was grateful for the experience and I think she was ready to go home to be with her little boy. I think it was a very bittersweet moment for her.

thank you for your response. I can see you really liked her and her style of music. I also think she wanted to go home with her young child. She definately missed him, she said that many of times. On Tuesday night, that was when she had made her comment of not caring... The judges just held it against her the following night. Thanks for the response & happy mylotting!

I'm assuming the studio recording was much diff. than the live on tuesday night performance. I can agree that Put Your Records On probably sounded good, I can sense that with the style of her voice. But, Rockin Robin, that was just NOT a good song choice at all... Michael Jackson week ended up being kinda tough...

I liked Megan Joy when she first auditioned for Idol. I thought that she has a different style of singing that is somewhat refreshing..reminiscent of Amy Winehouse..that kind of vibe.. But then as the show went on, she went lax and seemed unconcerned about her song choices' impact on the judges and the voters. it seems that she just chose the song that she liked without any consideration at all. I was really disappointed because I had high hopes for her at first. But hey, she doesn't seem too concerned so why should I?

thanks for your response. I dont care for Amy Winehouse, so maybe that's why I didn't care for her. I agree with you totally tho, if she doesn't care, why should anyone else!

Everything about Megan Joy is unique that's why I love her so much but I have to agree that she's acting weird during the elimination night. Anyway, I still don't mind. America should have singers like Megan Joy because she's incomparable and that's what American Idol is looking for. Who's gonna be brave enough to "caw" at stage? Only Megan. Plus the fact that she had never had voice lessons or any history of singing activity yet and I see her that she's still going to improve. *Beauty+Tatoo+Voice+Corkrey Dance=Megan*
