You're only as old as you feel....

Age is nothing but a number.
Age is only important if one is a cheese or a wine.
The subject of weddings - specifically mine - came up between my mom and me the other day. Let me take a step back and say I am 28 years old, have been engaged twice and am currently, and possibly terminally, single.
So in our discussion, I made reference to a "fairy tale waterfall" and she jumps in and says "You're almost 30, don't you think it's time to outgrow some of these things?" After some dragging I got her to tell me she meant I was too old for fairy tales. She says this to me a lot. I'm too old for fairy tales, I'm too old for Halloween, I'm too old to have a messy room.... But I don't believe any of that. I don't think that anyone is too old for anything that they enjoy...as long as they are physically capable to do it. I mean maybe an 80-year-old woman shouldn't be learning to ski but beyond that anything is possible.
What about you? Do people tell you that you are too old to do certain things? What do you think about being too old?

Age is nothing but a number.
That is true....especially id you're under 30!!! You will find as you get older that the definition of fun changes. Once you learn the consequences of your actions, it doesn't always remain fun!!! I used to swear that I'd NEVER grow up...but it snuck up on me anyway!!!
I'm 31 years older than you & I still believe in fairy tales. I can warn you that your life will be easier the sooner you forget the fairy tales!!! I'm NOT saying don't have fun. I just found a different way to have fun!!!

hi crimsonladybug,
I agree with you regarding age. I just consider it as a number and not affect me much.I am already 24 but still I do like watching cartoons. I prefer those than watching soap operas or talk shows. And then my parents and sisters will tell that I am too old for those cartoons. But I said that I really enjoyed cartoons and I not mind if they tell me I still act like a kid.Well, I can say that I am a kind of person that do things that enjoys me. I think that is the essence of life. To live life to the fullest and I don't care what other people may say about my behavior. It is my life anyway and not theirs. For me, as long as I not hurt anybody or not step on anybody, then nothing is wrong with what I am doing. I don't believe so that one person is too old to do something. An old man or woman who is has a difficult life when they are younger can still graduate from elementary even they are already on their 60's, 70's or older than that.Age really not matters at all.As one can do something, then he or she must go for it. We only have one life to live so we must really do everything to enjoy it and not let our age hinders on that.

I say I'm too old for some things, but it's basically an excuse so I don't have to do them. You're as old as you let yourself be. I wish I hadn't outgrown fairy tales. I wish I still had my sense of wonder, instead of letting myself get bitter and lose my creativity.
Don't let her win. Keep your belief in fairy tales. It keeps your creativity alive. Hang onto that as long as possible. The world is much darker, and not nearly as interesting once you've lost that.

yes I think it is a matter of only a thought which make people old or young. I have read Dale Carnegie book which tell us that there is no limit of mind power even in our old age and we feel it because of our thought and the type of life we have passed. The way we think is the type of life we spent
