Robert Pattinson as the new Spiderman?

That is a lie, Tobey Maguire is signed on for three more films and so is Kirsten Dunst. I would not want to see that vampire play Spider-Man. I would lose all respect for Marvel, the comic book, and the character if that ever happened. That was an April Fools joke no question.

I think they should keep Tobey. He may be 35 but he still looks young and there to deep into the franchise to change now. I know getting someone new to play the lead has been done with batman and superman, so I guess they can/or will do it for spiderman too. I guess I can see Robert as spiderman but how will he have time, He is currently doing New Moon(second book in twilight series) and there are two more books(movies) for him to do. Last I read they are planning to do all twilight books and will be filming them back to back as to have one out every year.

Well, Spiderman will not be the same if Tobey Macguire quits playing him. That is for sure. I know I am a Huge Tobey Macquire Fan and even have an autographed photo of him when he was younger. I have not heard these rumors yet, and I guess we will just have to wait and see if they are True.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Twilight Hero to replace Maguire. I just hope that he acts better than the first Spidey.

I have not listened or read about this but this is not good for movie and viewers, I dont like if Tobby Mcguire replaced with other actor, he is more suitable, cause after 3 series of spiderman it wont acceptable.

nice to know that i loved this actor for me he is one of the best actor and i want to watch this.

The last thing I read is Pattinson has his eye on The Doctor when David Tennant leaves Doctor Who in 2010. For starters I don't buy into the whole Robert Pattinson is beautiful/gorgeous/hot/hunky/whathaveyou. Personally, given the choice between Team Edward and Team Jacob I choose Team Jasper. But other people do think he's worthy of a bit of drool which, in my mind, disqualifies him for the role of Peter Parker. Peter is an awkward gawky teenager and Pattinson doesn't fit that persona. And what with his high cheekbones and chiseled jawline, couldn't pull it off if he was an Oscar caliber actor. I can see the concern about Maguire getting too old to play the role but anyone else I can think of to replace him is the same age, give or take. One that really stands out in my mind is Eric Millegan who played Zack on Fox's Bones but he's also 35. Maybe a sparkly new face but really I say if the producers/writers/directors/etc aren't comfortable with Maguire's age they should drop the franchise. Leave it at a trilogy. I hate when producers/writers/directors/etc change the actor playing MC in a movie and still call it a sequel.

I can't imagine them taking him out of the role simply because he fits the role. i don't think too many people will be happy with this idea. spiderman will always belong to tobey maguire and robert pattinson is much suited for the role of the vampire in twilight series.
