I am not choosy. As long as the food is edible I would most probably consume it. Even though there is not much meat on the neck it is still food. I was brought up never to waste good food.
What I am avoding now is the skin on the neck. 'Modern' chicken are injected with growth hormones. These hormones accumulate in the fat around the neck. Frequent consumption can bring undesired results.
all the best,
rosdimy

Np pffence taken because I have had many types of friends. Living in the UK for 8 years shaped my views further.
Free range chicken is nicer. It is dearer and not easily available here. Whenever I had the chance I chose a diet which is healthier. They also say the skin of free range chicken can make men perform better.

And, as a man, getting rid of those 36DD's is a pain in the neck lol. There is only one answer, my friend; you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? Buy free range, it's dearer, but oh! so much nicer. And no bloody hormones. (And no offence intended, I've had a couple of drinkies and I'm feeling bit frisky.)

Hey modstar! You sure do think up some interesting and gross
discussions don't you! No, I would never even consider eating
the neck of the chicken! I can't even look at let alone
eat it! Ick! I don't even make whole chickens so I don't even
get the neck only with turkeys and I throw it out!

I usually just get the cut up pieces, so there is no neck to deal with. My mother used to use them in soup. While they did add to the flavor, there were always little bones to deal with. It's almost impossible to get them all out. Once, when making soup, I put the neck in one of those little mesh bags that pearl onions come in. The tiniest bones still worked their way through. So, if I did get a whole chicken, I probably wouldn't use the neck.
If you'd like to go necking, I'd be happy to send it to you.

Hi modstar, I liked eating chicken neck very much during those earlier days. The meat in between the narrow bones were really smooth and tasty. Its texture was totally different from those in the other parts of the bird. It was lots of fun to draw out the shreds of meat one by one using hands and put them into the mouth.
Nowadays I don't eat chicken neck anymore for chicken necks are not available in the food courts or the fast food restaurant. We do not prepare homemade chicken and we take chicken only when eat out.
Happy posting and have a nice day.

Hi, modstar! I am not too sure about the chicken necks. But I have ate turkey necks many of times in my life. I love to eat them with white onions and seasoning. It is very delicious. Some of them are thin. You can find some that are thick in texture too. I wonder if chicken necks are similar to turkey necks??

For a person who complains a lot about allergic rhinitis it surprises me how you're such a chicken fan.
I love to eat chicken necks. Feet no. Head NO! The eyes....! Just look at the eyes! The way they stare back at you???NOOOOO!
But I do love chicken necks especially when breaded and deep-fried. The lymph nodes are just tasty. And the meat, no matter how minute, hehe, they're actually tasty. Licking the bones are so much fun too.
Am I grossing you out now? LOL

I do not eat chicken's neck at all, or I should say I have never tried that before, and I do not wish to try so. It's said that some chickens have been injected with some 'intensive growth' medicine, and the injection is made at the neck. I was told about this since I was young, hence I did not dare to eat the chicken neck. Also, it doesn't look nice for me to eat, and of course there's no meat too.

Yes, I do eat chickens neck. I find it very tasty and juicy. I like to chew on it completely for all the juices and the meat, though there is hardly any. I enjoy it.

I like eating the chicken's neck. It may have only small meat but the skin on it really does wonders. It is very delicious.
