Reliance India , has started upgrading their Modems , and are planning to Launch Wireless internet at upto 3.1 MBPS !! now , thats something to watch out for ..
I would love to have a 3.1 MBPS boradband connection on my laptop !
However , the performance has to be checked before hand .. also , I heard its quite expensive !
but nevertheless , an awesome jump in technology ..
Anybody here , who has already subscribed to this reliance service ?

I have read a lot of negative comments on their data card thing earlier. I am not sure if this new wireless internet will attract a large base of customers.

Well , many people have been complaining about poor service and stuff , but I havent had many problems .. The place I live , has a descent coverage of reliance , and it works just fine .
So , I am actually looking forward for this service to start . Time will tell how well it performs .

Really, I too should agree and say that, 3.1 MBPS is really really a big thing. A whopping speed of 3.1 MBPS will do a world of good to anyone. Even to the providers as I suppose more and more will try to subscribe to it. But as you said, it is but natural that it will be a little expensive in the beginning. But the bucks are worth it dude. Upgrading the modems though is a good idea. But is thing going to be through the reliance mobiles or what? Or will it be a seperate modem. But the most important thing as far as I am concerned is that, is it going to be USB modem? I too am considering the fact of buying it. Please do answer and help me.

Hey !
Well , yeah , its true .. 3.1 MBPS !
You can buy the modem outright with a down payment of 3500 Rs . Otherwise , if you want for a week or 10 days , reliance is coming up with the offer of exchanging your existing data card (USB or PCMCIA) to the New 3.1 MPBS USB modem . I think they will adjust the cost over a period of 12 months .
Basically , they will give you the New modem for free and then , increase your monthly rental for a year , to recover the costs . I think that's a sweet deal .
The high speed is already available in metros and big cities , and will start very soon in other cities as well .
I am about to upgrade my connection , and I suggest you upgrade yours too :) ..
Cheers

I am using from last 1 week
I am getting up to 700 kbps some times more than 1.0 mbps
Reliance says 3.1 mbps
It is amazing to hear. but actual speed is getting up to 1 mbps
This is also very good speed in wireless net.
So I am Happy with Broadband+ .
