Does anyone have an adult picky eater in their family? My boyfriend is one, and it makes me crazy because I am an excellent cook and my food is going to waste (it's only me and him) and I feel unappreciated. My talent is going to waste with him, maybe I need a new boyfriend:) Any suggestions out there??

Both my husband and I are picky eaters. Only problem is he doesn't like the foods that I like and vice versa. I like to use onions, garlic, peppers etc. to make flavorful food, he does not like that. He prefers steak, which I do not eat and rice. Now that both of us are unemployed, he has to eat what I prepare. I make a lot of pasta dishes, because it yields enough for several meals.

I love making pastas. You're so right there. My 7yo and I can live off of it for a few meals. I also make a lot of the generic hamburger helper meals because they also give us a lot of leftovers as well.

You don't need a boyfriend. Me and my boyfriend don't always eat the same things either and it used to be just me and him and it used to bug me that he wouldn't eat everything i cooked. One day we went grocery shopping together and he picked out things he would like to eat for dinner and it was a lot easier that way and i learned to like what he would eat and even though he still wont eat seafood that's fine with me were still doing good and eating together a lot. I didn't use to like broccoli that much and now i eat it fine because its not expensive and he likes it too, so at least we can agree on that. We usually always agree on any type of meat, since we both eat a lot of that. We both like hot dogs so that worked out pretty good for an easy night in. And then i made a seafood pasta one night and he wouldn't even touch it so now i know what he likes to eat and we make dinner that is good for the both of us to eat. Just talk to him on what he might like and what he might not like and try adding in things you both like into a dinner and you both should try it out. Hope i was able to help out a little.

If you're ever looking for another easy night in with hot dogs, here's an idea... Grab a can of crescent rolls, wrap them around the hot dogs, pop them in the oven at 425 for 20 minutes. These are so good that my 7yo wants them every week anymore and I don't mind even though I'm not a big hot dog fan. Somehow they taste better this way LOL

Hi, colon6163. I don't have an adult picky eater in the family that I know of. I am only a picky eater when I can't identify a certain food to eat. If it looks disgusting, then I will not eat it at all. Other than that, I will eat only the foods that I am used to eating.

i know how u feel. about all u can do is just fix what he likes & you'll both be happy then. i have a daughter-in-law that is picky. i try to have something i know she likes but i'm not going to plan my meal around her. there are things my son & grandson like so i cater to them to.

My husband is the exact same way. I am a very good cook as well but, at least my children like what I cook. I always tell him to just find something else to eat or go hungry lol By the way welcome to mylot

My hubby is a picky eater too. Most of the time , I dont buy things we both dont eat. So when we go out to eat, I often try to eat things I like that he doesnt care for so that I can still enjoy them without adding extra to the grocery bill.

I'm an adult picky eater. I also hate to cook. Thankfully it's just me and my 7yo daughter. I can get away with being a picky eater. Although part of it is due to my health - I can't eat anything spicy or too much spaghetti sauce, etc. - the rest is the fact that I hate certain foods (mayonaise and yogurt come to mind really fast). I think if I were cooking for someone like me it'd be difficult so thankfully I do the cooking and my daughter isn't that picky. In fact she eats things that I won't LOL

does not need to search for a new boyfriend. what you need is a new way and technique. based on my experience in my family. my cousin does not like shrimp, crabs. One day I cooked seafood spaghetti, of course, there are shrimp, squid and fish meatball. when my cousin eat the spaghetti, I do not told her there's shrimp on it. until the next day, I ask her, whether the spaghetti good or not? when she said well, I let her know that there's shrimp on the spaghetti. even though the reaction was not originally believed, but eventually bit by bit, every time a shrimp dish, she will eat, even though only slightly. this day my cousin was able to enjoy seafood. so cook a food, but Mix with vegetables or other food, does not need much at first introduction.

nope, noone who i live with is a picky eater, and neither am i. But i suppose if you did know someone who is a picky/fussy eater then im sure you'd probably have to understand them from their point of view aswell, and theres alsorts of reasons why they could be fussy. But yeah it must be annoying when the food is going to waste.
