Mystery bruise

Yesterday, I noticed a greenish yellow patch on my arm, that is, a fading bruise. Now where did that come from? There wasn't a bruise there the day before, and I have no recollection of whacking my arm in the immediate past. Maybe I had a blood transfusion the last time I was abducted by aliens? Do you ever get surprised like this?

i get mystery bruises all the time. if i go sailing, after a day o the boat i'm covered in them! remember that sometimes (rarely but still happens) a bruise can travel to another site from the original thump site.

The thing that really puzzles me is, that it seems to be an old bruise, but there wasn't a bruise there the day before.

Apparently, as we age, we are more prone to bruising because of aging capilaries and thinning skin.
