Do you chat on cellphone while you are at work?

i have two jobs at the inn i work in the office so i can pick it up every now and then but not be on it for more then 5 or 10 mins but when i work at old navy i cant even have the cell phone on the sales floor with me....i dont know what line of work you are in but you should not really talk on it.....only on lunch breaks and 15's

I have bunssines cell phone that I am alwasy useing at work or at home. I do not have a personal one. so I am talking on it at work but it is for work realted problems. I can make some person calls on it but I must keep it limited. I have to take it everywhere even when I am off. so I am talking on it at any given time.

There is no official rule stating "no talking on your cellphone", but it is looked down upon because generally it prevents you from doing your job. Unfortunately, I have some coworkers that are CONSTANTLY on their cellphones, and as such they never help out. I am in a customer service type business, so the rest of us have to pick up the slack. It's really frustrating, especially when they are gone talking on their phones from 2 to 4. Our boss doesn't say anything to them, however, so we can't really do anything about it.

I'm lucky at my job, i'm allowed to use any chat software i like so i don't need my phone for it. I use it for texting and calling instead. I can also browse websites while i work. Sometimes when my manager isn't around i even play games while at work. I know some do this also just to ease the stress for a few minutes.

I don't think you should be allowed to be on your phone talking at the same time you should be working. You should have your cell phone either on vibrate or silent if you are waiting for a call from someone. Maybe if you do get the call you can go to the restroom and talk there so your not interrupting your work environment. If you have texting and not many people are around then i wouldn't thing than that is a bad thing to do because i have worked before and texted at the same time so i wouldn't thing that would be so bad to do.
