Moms, do you feed your babies ready to eat foods or do you make your own?

I'm wondering if you moms out there buy food in can or if you make your own porridges, mashed potatoes and such for your small ones (6 months +). My son is 8 months and he's not eating alot other than breastmilk but I'm trying to make homemade food whenever I have the time to do it, but sometimes I go to the store to buy Nestle's baby foods also, it's no sugar innit so I guess it's okay, but still...
