Do you eat chicken's butt?

I was just inspired by a discussion about chicken's neck so I wanted to ask you about butts this time. That diamond-shaped fatty portion where the roots of the tail feathers used to be. Do you eat that?
Or do they remind you of chicken dung?In fact, at times, they do smell of dung.

not only chicken's brain but i eat sheep's brain and cow's brain...
in indonesia, sheep's brain is so delicious and quite expensive...
my old old old granfather ate monkey's brain...
but i never try eat monkey's brain cos i dont wanna kill monkeys just to eat their brain...

Nice photo! I was about to argue that it's supposed to chicken's tail but your photo convinced me that they're indeed butts. No, i don't. In fact i hate it! Me and my mom argue a lot about it because she would serve chickens with butts and tells me that she took them out already. It's not like i don't have eyes to see those butts. I guess i should come up with a book about how to inspire, "Chicken Butts For The Soul".

The one she's referring to is the "anal" region only. But the butt obviously stayed. I wonder what's the chavacano for butt. LOL
I'll look forward to the release of that book. In fact, I'll probably be reading it more often than my textbooks.
By the way, for lack of anything clearer and better, I settled for a photo which made the butts looked like strawberries!LOL

Yep... espcially the barbequed ones in Reyes Barbeque... MY fave... also my dad's fave... Only the cholesterol is way too much for us because we have hypertension but still its good... ~LOL

The most frequented barbecue house here is called "Mary's" and they make excellent BBqs including the "butts". And yes, we had to maintain a good cholesterol watch.

I would rather eat the internal organs than that part!It looks delicious but can't stomach the end part lol!Besides,i don't see what i can get from that part anyway.

I dont eat that type of part.
I eat only wings or you can say thice,legs and good parts of the chicken.
If you want, you can eat every part of chicken without hessitate

We call this the Bishop's nose and it is often fought over at the table, If there is any smell you should not be eating any part of that chicken.

yes i eat chicken butt and i eat every part of chicken ,except head part and leg finger part and feather of it .
The best part of a chicken is actually , butt only. If you take the bottom of it's back and push your thumbs on the left or right side of it's back hip the little butt muscle will simply pop out ,if it's cooked right. i didn't had it from many years , but I still remember how yummy it is.today i have stock of it in refrigerator and should do in evening .i am feeling hungry for it,from now only.

I do eat chicken Butts... In fact, when I was away from home for a license examination, I bought 1 kilo of chicken butts from SM and shared it with some friends... ^_^

Oh yes, chicken butt is my favorite part to eat. Whenever i cook chicken with soup or by fried i make sure separate that part so nobody will eat it. There were some occasions that i bought chicken butt half kilo at least and then i just fried them and eat as one of our pulutan.. yummy!

I think it's all in the mind sometimes that something is "yucky" even if it's not. The brain? I just can't eat that. And feet. Feels like I'm licking my own sole! hehe.
Gizzard is delicious and intestines too as barbecue. :-)

hi! Yup, I do eat one and I could say that it's I think my favorite! hehe...though some would say that it's yucky,.... I've been eating it since then coz it is still a chicken and of course its been cleaned before it was cooked, so there's no reason for not eating it.

I must admit that I have eaten chicken butt a time or two and it taste quite good too and if it is properly cleaned then it wont smell of dung.Trust me it can be a rare treat ,I havent had it in a while but when I did it was good because it was properly cleaned and most chickens eat corn so that cant be taht bad lol

I eat that but I remove that outer part, but I don't eat chicken necks and feet. I don't know but I really don't feel like eating those. It's alright however if these would be mix with veggies, I would still prefer to eat the veggies.

If I was asked to choose between legs and butt, I would definitely go for legs too!
But in the absence of legs, butts won't be much of a problem. Provided they are cleaned well, and cooked well.
