well, i choose my major when i was at college by chance. because i like chemistry when i was in high school. but it turned out that i was enrolled by physics faculty and my major is photoelectron..lol. i find it more and more interesting after i started to learn it. now my current job is related to my major though i don't do kinds of research work. if i am given another chance to choose my major in college, i will still have physics as my major. what about u, my friends? how do u choose your major? do u like it?

Choosing a major was pretty easy for me. Ever since I was old enough to have a job I worked in daycares or in other jobs pertaining to children. I love children very much. I enjoy teaching them, watching them learn and grow, and I just love spending time with them. I just enrolled in college online, and my major is Child Development. I actually just started school yesterday, and I am very excited.

I actually choose my major for college probably back when I was in middle school. (lol) I always told myself I was going to go into science or go be a vet just like every other person wanted to do and then once I hit 8th grade I took a Journalism class fell in love with it and started writing that year at the age of 13 for the teen section in my local newspaper. I continued that for a couple of years as well as writing for my high school paper. Also in my school we have a trade school and they offered Radio/TV Broadcasting so I did that for 2 years after applying and being accepted and so at that point I knew with all the experience media was where I wanted to be whether is was writing, producing, editing, etc. So it wasn't choosing my major that was a big decision for me when it came to college. I knew I wanted to do Communications so instead it was choosing the right college. I still do love it - 2 years into the program. And I've actually gone to add on 2 minor, sociology and political science, so therefore I have a stronger base in what exactly I do what to write about. Also I'm publishing articles on an online newspaper for the school as well as being assistant director for a program running on our TV station. So I have to say - once I'm out of college and completely in the workforce I don't think I would ever change my mind.

When I was in high school i was good at biology, so i decided to become a high school teacher. But going through the motions I couldnt get into my major, it just didnt seem to fit. Then one night on a barren road with no one around for miles there was a car crash about a mile ahead of me, Atruck had been driving too fast and slammed into a car. The car looked like a crumpled newspaper. I honestly during the moment didnt really know what i was doing, it was like someone else took over my body. I rushed out of my car and smelling gasoline i managed to pull a lifeless female body out of the crumpled car. I hated moving her, but I was afraid of the car igniting. Then I began CPR, barking out orders to my friends ( i had my two best friends in the car with me) to call 911 and check on the passenger in the truck. After 7 minutes CPR worked, and she was breathing. Then I heard sirens and then and ambulance was there and they took over. It was such a rush. It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to go into the medical field. No idea what field, but I liked saving a life. It was the best I had ever felt my entire life.

Hello kunking ,I really do envy you ,you can choose you major by yourself , but I am not so lucky like you! I really have a vivd imagination when I was at senior school ,my pursuit is psychology ,and I am inclined to be a psychologist in the future ,sonuds wonderful ,while you know sometime as a teenager ,you can master your life and destiny all by yourself ,my now major is financial engineering ,but I really done have any sort of foudness for that major ,so I have been depressed for ages the vocation ! Now I am a sophermore ,I also find my way ,although I can fulfill my dream to be a psychologist ,but I have set a dream to be a lecturer in economy ! I wish myself have a good future ,I also learn one thing is that only when you own the economic independence can you master your own fate !

I would really just do core subjects at first, then after the first year you can be more mature & maybe know more about what you want to do with your life. Because you may change your mind. And at least you would have your core subjects out of the way.

Before I entered the college,my dream was to be a designer in whatever areas. However,I was enrolled by International Trade. At my first semester of college life,I meet my economic teacher---Laowei.He told me a lot of things which happened in the world. One of those topic catched me---stock market. Then I started to explore this new area.when I deep into it,I found myself become more and more interest in it.My dear teacher said my charater is pretty suitable for it.Now,I am still in the learning period~

Take classes, find out what you are good at, what are your strengths and what are your weaknesses? You need to find something.

Mama's Girl - Me and my Mama
My Dad picked up Computer Engineering for me and it was my fault. I got this scholarship from a very prestigious university where all my student needs will be funded by the government, to top it all, I'll be studying a medical course which was great because I dreamt of becoming a doctor ever since. But then I chickened out. I will be miles and miles away from my Mama and at 16 I was still a Mama's girl. Papa got angry and decided for me. He picked up engineering since I'm kinda good in Mathematics (my favorite subject). I have no regrets, I don't regret a single thing in my life but I never really liked the course except for the fact that I enjoyed all my Mathematics subject. Shucks! I should be practicing medicine right now!

Hi, friend. I must admit that I do admire people taking up courses in line with natural sciences specifically those who are studying botany, archaelogy, physics, chemistry, and so on. To me, these are courses which I normally wouldn't be interested in because I don't have the patience to do scientific experiments. So in a way, I do find people like you as knowledgeable or intellectual individuals, friend. Well in my case, I was quite undecided when I took up my course in college. The only thing which led me to taking up Accountancy was my fascination with our elective subject when I was still in high school. But that elective subject, being Accounting 1, was only an introduction to the Accountancy course. And I was a bit fearful that I might not be able to pass the course or graduate from it with flying colors. But as they say, all's well that ends well. Presently, I'm working as a financial analyst with a local bank for more than 4 years now and I do belong with the Controllership Group or Accounting Department. Regards, friend.
