Do you give your used but nice furniture to others? I have been so busy since last week and don't have time to reply in myLot, I miss you all so much. My friend gave me some used but good looking furniture to us, as she moved to another city and bought other funiture that fit her new home. I was very busy tidy up my home to receive those "new" furniture to my home, and I gave mine to another friend of mine. I helped to deliver the furniture to her house and helped a bit to place those furniture to the right place. Back to my home, my hubby and I needed to think about at where we should put those, and I have to wipe the furniture clean all over once. We finally did all work yesterday. We were so exhausted and of course we are excited to have a new look in our home. So do you do the same thing? Whenever I want to replace some furniture in my home, I will ask my relatives and my friend if they need those? Do you think it is a great idea? Happy myLotting~

I don't even have good furniture with me, how am I supposed to give them to others. I am using 30 years old bed which my mum's mum presented her on her wedding with my father. I am using the same chairs for last 20 year. I can't give things to others until I have one of those new to our family!

wow, that sounds very amazing to keep chairs for almost over 20 years, are they all antiques? Thanks for your response~

I can't say that they are antiques but we don want to keep using them as long as possile. I think we can use them for next 20 years or so!

Hi, HelloMickey! If I had some furniture to give away, I would do so. Just as long as it is still in good and decent condition, I will ask my family and friends if they could use it. That is very thoughtful of you to consider giving your furniture away. Stay Blessed!

Hello cream97 Thank you for your response. I think some people would be too shy to ask others if they will accept used furniture. Luckily, people I know are so nice they even don't feel offensive if I asked them whether they needed my furnitures. ^.^

I have done that before also. I like to give it to people who need it and will take care of it.

My mother will give away anything nice but is no longer used around the house. She encourages us to give away our clothes if they're still good for other people to use - our clothes, our books, whatever! She also likes giving away food especially if she knows we have too much for the family. For furniture she also have given away a set because she bought a new one for herself. The set she gave away was newly fixed (she had the covers changed just recently). Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Hello oyenkai, You are welcomed, your topics is very interesting indeed. It is very nice of your mother to teach her child to do that, she is a very kind person, isn't it? It's always a good idea to give away materials to others in need. Have a nice day.

This is the nomal habit for us too, we will first ask if any of our friends or neighbours whether they would like the furniture if it is still very new and in good condition. If not, then we will try to sell it to a second hand furtniture shop, and they will usually come and remove it for us as well :)

Hello Bellapop Few relatives and friends of us sometimes shows us that it is embarrassing if they use second hand furniture. Personally, I don't mind myself, that's why some of them would be very shocked if I asked them whether they want my furniture, sometimes the furniture is nice but frankly speaking I bought it wrong at the first place, like the wardrobe too big for our bedroom, sofa too small for us, nothing wrong with the furniture but only I bought it wrong. I think it is a good idea to sell them to a second hand shop, if there's one here, I think I won't be hesitate to do this instead, at least, I don't need to worried if the furniture is wasted and is being dumped at sea. Thank you for your respond^^

oh yes! today that is a very good idea. its really hard buying new furniture again. when i moved this time i left several good peices of furniture to my daughter in florida. mostly because sons gf said i didnt need it. and quote "what'll i do with mine?" meaning if i didnt use what she already had in the room. problem now being, if she leaves i have to replace it! not good on my budget.

Do you give ur used furniture to others.......... First let me just say that ur post got selected b/c I was doing ennie meanie miney mo, lols. DON'T you remember that silly childhood ryhme? Lols, I love to have fun, anyways, yes, I do usually give my slightly used furniture and clothing to others in need. Since furniture is kind of expensive I normally try to hold on to it down to the very end but with old clothing I normally just give it to good will. Or set it out for the trash. Then usually some guy will come by and pick out whatever he wants then he uses it in a yard sale from what I'm told. But hey, one man or woman's trash is another one's treasure, so I applaud him for having the ingenuity to be able to take something old and give it a fresh new twist. happy mylot!
