Does anyone camp?

We are set up for our first camping trip of the year on May 1st. I find camping to be the easiest and cheapest vacation for our family. The kids enjoy it and we don't spend a fortune. Last year we used tents, then borrowed my in-law's huge travel trailer for a week. This year we have my dad's old 1989 25ft travel trailer which I bought from my mom after his death. $2500 with a new fridge which had never been used. We have done a few repairs and painted. It's starting to shape up nicely. We are so excited. We are lucky to have 3 great state parks less than 2 hours away from home. So, instead of spending all that money on hotel rooms, we are going to spend the summer in our frugal camper.

That is really a frugal way of enjoying life. My son bought a camp and quilt last year, and had a brief tryout, and the result was good both for his wife and son. We elders could not stand the risk for fear of cold and wet. A wagon or trailer is excellent even for long trips. Wish you a good journey in may.

Thank you. Yes our first night in the tent last year was very cold. We gave the kids the heavier sleeping bags and they were toasty snuggled up in thier little dome tent. Hubby and I froze in our big roomy tent. Makes for a good laugh now, but it wasn't so funny then.

Wow. 30 bucks is a great deal. I paid 50 for our one room. I would like to tent camp more, but my hubby is a little spoiled to luxury. It's a little cold here to start in May, but it's hubby's birthday so we are going to test out the new trailer. Good luck with the new tent.

My family does, I do it alone too...I don't always need to rent a spot in the wilderness, or anything. I'll pitch a tent out in our decently sized back yard, I'll sleep out on the deck. It's all the joys of leaving home, without really leaving. Peaceful, despite it all...and best of all, it costs me nothing. Camping, even when one travels, though...is way cheaper than most vacations, this is true. Just like roadtrips -can- be.

Yes, tent camping can be a bit rough even without health issues. You shold try it again. You can rent trailers to test it out before buying. We find it very peaceful and relaxing.

I love camping too. It's a great way to take a vacation and it isn't too costly. In fact, I'm going camping soon with my mother and some friends. The whole trip only costed 60 dollars, excluding the gas money and food money, but that still quiet a bargain. It's also a nice chance to get some exercise. I'm looking forward to it. I hope you enjoyed your trip.

Well, I seldom do camp trip recently. But with the spring's coming, it is really a good time to do this. So I am thinking about this. I am ask some friends to camp with me. We may play different games in the daytime. And just sleep in in at night. I am sure it is a wonderful experience.

My family camps every year. But we only go to the local lake - take the camper 10 minutes from home to the campgrounds and put up the tent too and the camper stays there a month. It makes a nice change of scenery and relaxing for everyone. We take turns paying it and using it and we dont have to haul it for hours away from home.
