In certain cultures, circumcision is seen as some kind of rite of passage. In my country, if a guy is not circumcised, he is usually made fun of and ridiculed because he never really "became a man". It's really weird how it's such a big deal here while in other parts of the world, the person actually has a choice. I do know that there are certain advantages when you're circumcised: It's supposed to be more hygienic.
So... what do you think of circumcision? What are your thoughts and opinions regarding this?

Hey inky! Again, you come up with some weird topics for
discussions, but you should be voted the best "topic for
discussion starter" here on all of mylot! You are quite
intelligent and I am proud to be your friend! Yes, in the
USA now circumcision is now done for health reasons. In the
Jewish religion it is done as a custom and right of passage.
I think it is required now that all male children be circumcised,
but I'm not 100% sure. If it is done for health reasons, then
of course I am all for it.

i'm not sure what i think about it.
i mean, how hard can it be to roll that back and clean it?
part of me thinks they really should wait and let the child decide if he wants it cut.after all,it's his body.

It's part of our culture to be circumcised. It's a shame if you are not circumcised in our country.

sometimes boys are circumcised for religious reasons. For example all Jewish boys are circumcised as a religious obligation. In addition some doctors believe that circumcision is healthy and should be done routinely for that reason.
