Our parents were able to live without internet during their time, so it should not be a problem. Humans have a great capability to adapt themselves in a new environment as history suggests. I am very sure that we could manage without internet.

Other than that, i dun use it for work or any other important things.. lol =D Right now, i'm only using it because i have it, and i wanna maximise my usage instead of wasting time surfing aimlessly ^_^ hehe

If the internet becomes unavable I have no dobt that it would have it affect. but I can do without the internet for a while. I have spent peroids away from any log ons to the net. I have spent a few days upto a week without the net. but a month or more I am not sure if I would want that.

honestly i think that is the worst thing right now that can happen to our economy. if we lose the internet that means a lot of companies like you mentioned will be lost. they can't do all of their marketing like they once could. and i think that a lot of revenue will be lost, because now a days most people shop online and if there is no internet then there is no shopping online, there for decreasing profits and dropping the overall economic stand point.

I would have a hard time communicating with friends from other countries and I might resort to telephone or postal letters just to talk to them. Fortunately, since everyone, and including businesses around, we all utilize the internet and its benefits so losing it would make a lot of people who has grown attached to it very annoyed. I guess we would all go along with mobile phones until the internet comes back...?

I didn't have email service for about 24 hours and I felt lost. many of the people I communicate with daily, reach me via email and when my service was down for 24 hours, i didn't know if people had responded to earlier emails or if people were trying to reach me. It's been a couple days and any emails that might have been sent are lost forever and I'm still trying to figure out what I've missed...and that's only after no service for 24 hours.

People would have to go back to phones, books and actually interactting in person. It would be missed but maybe a good change.

I never thought I would say this a few years ago but my world would literally stop! My work involves the Internet and the way I communicate with a lot of my friends in online too. I guess I would have to adjust by using the phone or writing letters but it would not be easy. I would imagine a lot of businesses would come to a halt, especially with no email facility and of course a lot of businesses are online based so it would be quite tragic not to be connected even for a day!

This is a very real fear for me, because my rent was just raised by 200 dollars and I'm facing the threat of not being able to pay for the internet anymore. So I am trying to avoid that at any cost. I don't know what I'd do without having access to the internet. It is my main was of socializing and talking to people. I have no car, and it is hard for me to go out. So I pretty much depend on the phone and even more than that the net to talk to people. I also am involved in forums and groups online that I really enjoy. So I don't know what I would do without the net.

my life is not going to work without internet. because it the only source i can talk to my friends, although i have some frends living besides my house , but most of my best friends r on internet, we have not met even once , but since we chat every day so it is like we have been living together from many years. also all my work is internet based , so if internet is cut out i cant earn my living.

In a way, I think that going without the Internet for a while might be a good thing. We'd re-learn how to read and write; we'd also start thinking a bit more critically than we do now).

Hello chimrani, I am aware that we depend a lot on internet nowadays but as for myself, I still can survive without the internet. Since I spend more time online, I spend less time for my hobby like reading. Maybe without internet, I have a chance to go back to my hobby and life might get a bit uncomfortable without the internet.

I'd make more phone calls because I'd have no email. I'd be without the income the internet brings me but I grew up without computers and would have no problems doing without it. Without the internet, we played games together, read books, went to the park, watched tv together or gardened. Our lives were busy and full! I kind of wish the internet would go away and take cell phones with it! But I like the internet, even though I can live quite well without it.
