if this last for a long time, maybe you should go and see a doctor, people will always feel exhausted if they can not get a good sleep.maybe you are confusing about something or just thinking too much of something, try to relax or do some excersise, that will help you on sleep

hello lisakay. you need to take a break, breathe and take things easy. maybe you have been so busy lately that your body is sending signals that it needs to rest. it is frustrating if one is so tired and still can't fall asleep, maybe thoughts about everyday things keep on running through your mind even while you try to fall asleep. i suggest you shut your mind off and just let go. on days when i can't sleep ( which is very rare) i count 1 to 100) or i watch a boring movie on dvd then dozed off after a while. hope you get your much needed rest.

A lot of times when I have trouble falling asleep its mostly due to me staying up after I've already reached that point to where I want to past out... don't know why it happens but if I go to sleep as soon as I start feeling tired it normally works but still it takes me about 30-45 minutes to actually get my brain to stop talking to me cause I'll just think about things constantly.
Another thing to be careful about is drinking too much caffeine before trying to go to bed because its not going to let your body rest. Plus I have heard that if you lay in bed watching TV or are in bed on the computer than somehow its programmed to your brain that bed is not the place to sleep and so therefore you can have a lot harder time going to sleep from it.
But sometimes I find it better to have light music on in the background.
Plus be careful with medication because your body can get addicted to it - which isn't good overall - but then those medications will stop working because of your body becoming adjusted to it.
