I used online TV for most things since I spend so much time on my laptop . It required at least WiFi speed. You dont have to downlaod anything it just simple live streaming but high speed internet mean better experience .

Hi.
I generally use direct TV, though I have the option of internet TV as well. Yes, internet TV requires a lot of downloading as buffering is basically a type of downloading and to have better viewing experience, high speed internet service should be there.

This would depend on the quality of the television programme and the size of the image. A standard television transmission in Europe is PAL, which has a framerate of 25 frames per second. The USA, Canada and a few others use NTSC with a frame rate of 30. I believe the actual figure is 29.97 frames per second, but the difference is academic. This means that you would need to down that number of images every second if you were watching a live programme. However, many compression systems reduce the frame rate quite a bit, and a rate of 15 per second will still provide a decent image.
As I mentioned earlier a smaller image would also reduce the overall data that needs to be transferred.
I have never used internet television so I am uncertain what data rate it uses, but I would expect that you should be given a choice to suit your connection speed.

Watching TV online is very difficult if you don't have a broadband or any high speed internet connection actully in case of video its data swap fastly and for smoot flow of data is require to watch the tv on internet other wise the video det strucht here an there due to the low bandwith....so its necessary to have a high speed connection to watch tv online.

Hello there, i used internet TV to watch television from other country. Based on my experience it need more than 256 kbps to watch it smoothly. I used 256 kbps connection and i can watch the movie but the picture is lag and not smooth. So i think it would need 768 kbps to be run smoothly.
