There are cases wherein you have to make a good impression on your first date. In order to do so, you will avoid hard to eat food . What do you consider a "no-no" food on your first date? I have the following "no-no" food orders, I usually end up in a mess whenever I eat these yummy foods:
1. spaghetti - it can splurge on my shirt :)
2. ice cream in cone - it can really be messy when it melts
3. crab in a shell
4. shrimp in a shell
5. japanese food (maki) - its really yummy but since I am not good in using chopstick, I'll just save it on the next date.
Please share..

I would say not anything with alot of garlic. It will make your breath stink then he/she wont want to kiss you. LOL...all the ones you listed are good points to.

Spaghetti is first on my list since its hard to eat. You cant focus since your talking to your date. food with onions which becomes smelly afterwards. Sandwiches that are very creamy on the inside, it tends to stuck on the teeth pizza too. Any food that requires the hand specially sea foods.

For me, especially if its the first date, I try not to pick the most expensive items on the menu but don't automatically go with the lowest price item either. I always try to match somewhere around what the guy is paying for his. Plus, don't over eat because afterwards you're going to feel horrible and you don't want to make him feel bad about anything thinking he got you sick when really its just being bloated.
The biggest no-no food I would really say is anything with sauce like spaghetti or anything that is going to make your breath smell really bad or smells bad in general. Thats kind of why I hate chinese food since to me its one of the most horrible smells ever.
