Someone being sending me messages saying he want to know me better. Not just to know em better, he was hoping for a serious relationship. But I don't want to be in any relationship at the time being. I just broke up! I need space and feel reserved to be in one. But if I just reject him with all this excuses, he might get hurt and I don't want that to happen. If I said yes for friendship, he might feeling he hope, that's not good either.
What should I do?

You are right. But this discussion may not be relevant as it is many years old.

Truth hurts... You can't sugar coat everything. And beside you might see his true personality if you become honest with him... You might have a chance to see if he is mature enough to handle rejection. God bless.

i think you should tell him clearly that you dont want to have any relationship now.you wont be fair to him if you give him hope now,so i tink you have may have to be straight with him,he may feeeeeel sad for some days but after that he will be fine.

Is this person a stranger on the internet? If so just tell him you don't feel comfortable persuing that kind of relationship. If it is someone you actually know just be honest that is the best you can do. Assure him it has nothing to do with him, but at this time you really just need some space and need to figure things out for yourself and find yourself before getting involved with someone else.

Your first respondent said it right. You know everything you said in the discussion? Just tell him that :) Tell him that you're not ready for a relationship and that you're not even ready to be waited on - that you don't want him to hope on the relationship because that pressures you and that might ruin your friendly relationship :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

You're welcome and thanks for responding too
I did tell him that. Obviously he never listen nor take the hint. He misunderstood everything. Being friendly mean I give green light. Replying message mean it's okay to hope. I find it's easier not to say anything at all. He calm a bit by now.

Just tell him the truth. That the problem these days, people aren't telling the truth. You don't have to get into a long breakdown of your past relationships. Just tekl him you're not interested in dating at the moment.
If you want him as a friend and he still has hope for you and him than that's out of your control. That's something he has to deal with.
{I speak as a person who's been rejected and still hung on to feelings.}

Just say no, that you really don't want to get into another relationship at the moment. There is no reason for someone to feel bad about it, they should accept that this is how you feel.
