Is Associated Content a Waste of Time?

I know a lot of people think that sites like AC are a waste of time. I want to know what others who have actually used and published on the site think. Do you enjoy writing for AC? Do you think it familiarized you with writing on the web? Do you feel comfortable submitting work elsewhere after writing for AC? Do you (or did you) enjoy writing on AC?

I love writing for AC because I do freelance and I travel and I can write about tons of things with no minimum. Plus, there are plenty of people on here who write for AC so you can get some good page views, just type in Associated Content in the discussion box and you'll see how many write for the site. Do you write for them? If so post your link on your profile page, I've got some page views that way too.
