I'm going to rant, there has got to be a better way to handle passwords then to make me fill them in each time I go to a site, some sites let me set it on automatic but others don't then there are the ones that throw you out for one missed password, that irritates me so much that I often won't even try to go back. There just has to be a better way.

Most browsers and operating software have a feature that will remember passwords as long as you don't clear the cookies and some other files. But that leaves you wide open to malwre and viruses having access to the sites where you use password if your computer is compromised which can happen often and easily.

Thank you for pointing that out, I was about to look for that feature.

I am having a problem handling passwords in my outlook express. I have nine official email ids there with different passwords. Somehow my computer refuses to remember these passwords and every morning when I log in I have to feed in the nine passwords everyday. And to remember them is a problem. They are all different and for some reasons I cannot change them and make them all the same. Wish someone could help me out.

I keep a hand written list and have just used initials so it would be harder for anyone else to read, or maybe I'm just fooling myself.

I too have made some coded notes in my diary and it is always kept next to the computer. I presume nobody would understand the coded messages.

If you use the Mozilla FireFox browser, it will remember your passwords and enter them automatically.

The 'save password' feature found in browsers like Firefox and Opera is sufficient if your account is not sensitive. Alternatively you may try using software specifically designed for this purpose. I am not using any so no personal recommendation can be made. Below are among the sites which you should have a look on: www.accessmanager.co.uk/ - free for personal or non-commercial use www.scanwith.com - paying software http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/security/fwpass.html all the best, rosdimy

I was suffering with the same problem of forgetting password and user name. Then, I have made the list of all usernames and passwords on OneNote and them protected with a password. Now I have to remember only the password of onenote.
